From: Catholic Advocate Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Subject: Finally
Barack Obama's war against religious liberties is finally getting attention in the mainstream media, thanks to Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. It's about time! In a recent debate, Gingrich challenged the media on why it's not asking the questions that illustrate Obama's war on religion. He hit the nail on the head stating, "The bigotry question goes both ways, and there's a lot more anti-Christian bigotry today than there is concerning the other side. And none of it gets covered by the news media." Catholic Advocate will not endorse a candidate for President until the General Election campaign begins; however, we wanted to praise Speaker Gingrich - a fellow Catholic - for speaking what's on all of our minds. After a landslide victory in the South Carolina primary last week, Gingrich has proven that people of faith really can make a difference. Speaker Gingrich's comments could not be timelier for people of faith. Regardless if you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent; a Romney, Santorum, Paul, Gingrich or Obama supporter; belong to a particular faith or not; the recent decision to give organizations 1 year to comply with the new law requiring them to provide free sterilization, abortifacient, and birth control to employees affects all of us. Whether it's today or 365 days from now, this is a blatant attack on our conscience rights. First our religious liberties, then what? We must stop the attack on our freedoms now. Please stand with Catholic Advocate to defend our religious liberties and preserve all of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Thank you in advance for your support. Sincerely, Deal Hudson - Chairman, Catholic Advocate 2100 M Street NW | Suite 170-358 | Washington, DC 20037 P.S. Whether you agree with Newt Gingrich's politics or not, he's absolutely right on one thing: the news media has turned a blind eye toward Barack Obama's war on religion. Please stand with Catholic Advocate and help us defend our religious liberties by making the most generous contribution you can afford today. |
