Thursday marked the 224th anniversary of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution with no word out of the White House.
President Barack Obama speaks in the East Room of the White House on Thursday in Washington to call on Congress to stop interest rates on student loans from doubling on July 1. It was one of many engagements Obama had on Thursday, none of which dealt with the Constitution's 224th anniversary.

Obama has come under fire for failing to celebrate other anniversaries, including the June 6 D-Day invasions that marked the turn of World War II.
