Many people today, especially the younger ones who have never been required to study history and know only the PC taught in "social studies" classes under the guise of "social justice" have been taught to believe the Civil War was fought over slavery. Slavery was just one of many disagreements between the Union and the States. The central issue of the Civil War was states rights versus national rights and if you remove the slavery issue from the table the south was more in line with and closer to the Constitution than the Union....KD
