Arizona And The Future of America

I would preface this article today by saying I have a profound affection for the Mexican and Central American culture. I know first hand that the majority of those people are hard working, family-oriented individuals, and I welcome them into this country legally. But for all my love of life south of the border, I love my country more, and I am convinced the present direction of immigration reform here in America represents the disintegration of this nation.
Even with the façade of our Homeland Security, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens continue, almost unhindered, to cross into America annually via the Mexican border. Their accelerating numbers are not only undermining America's ability to function and draining an immense amount of indigenous resources, but the long-term prognosis for the continuation of this unfettered invasion is a complete fragmentation of the nation, a deterioration of traditional values and economies, and ultimately, the very loss of America's sovereignty.
In border states like Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, and California, crime is so rampant that American citizens have lost the innate privilege of feeling safe in their own country. "Sanctuary cities" virtually protect illegal alien criminals from prosecution. Ranchers and farmers along the border fear for their lives, and the true mindset of many of these invaders is founded in organizations like California's MEChA, which proposes that California, along with the entire American Southwest, is "occupied territory" legitimately belonging to Mexico, and the legitimate citizens, the " Mexica " are to "reconquesta" it.
The most astounding aspect of this entire affair is, America is not only failing to stop this frightening metamorphosis, but much of the country is assisting it. Future historians will record us as the nation that killed itself.
We have recently watched a scenario unfold that, in one fashion or another, will change forever the dynamics of this nation. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into effect a law that brings Arizona into conformity with what has been Federal law for decades. She is requiring nothing more than what has been American law since 1940, which requires legal aliens-immigrants and guest workers-to carry their green cards or work visas at all times. It has been a crime to be in this country illegally for decades, and Arizona is doing nothing more than applying the law.
This new legislation does not require any U.S. citizen in Arizona to carry an identity card. The new law forbids racial profiling, as it reads, "A police officer may not solely consider race, color or national origin" in stopping anyone or in determining an immigrant's status. Before there can be a "reasonable suspicion" an individual is here illegally, there must first be a "lawful contact." Basically this is defined as, "no police officer can halt and challenge a person sitting in a restaurant or bar, or just driving a car."
Phoenix, in the words of Kris Kobach, co-author of the new law, has become the "kidnapping capital of North America and the hub of human smuggling into the United States." On a daily basis, American citizens throughout the Southwest are being intimidated, robbed, and even murdered, and it was their plight that forced Gov. Brewer to act.
But, in what I find to be the most astounding of events, Arizona rather than being hailed as courageous, has become the whipping child of political correctness, as proponents of illegal immigration mass in protests throughout the Southwest and California, and our own leaders mumble platitudes about their uncertainty of Arizona's actions.
To borrow a phrase, there are some truths that should be self-evident here: History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy. When you add the challenges of illegal entry and flagrant antagonism to this, you have the recipe for the decline and fall of America.
In the face of all this we have those who press to make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' They thrive on buzzwords like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' that halt discussion and debate, and empower the doctrine of "victimology," making it politically correct to ignore the impact of millions of illegal invaders on American soil.
I can tell you now with absolute surety, that America is at a crux with the onset of this new legislation in Arizona. If we lose at this, if the crowds of indignant illegal's and the bludgeoning force and fear of political correctness forces Arizona to rescind this legislation, America is lost. We will never look back, and illegal immigration with its rampant crime and monumental depletion of our resources will overwhelm and cripple this nation inside a decade.
Every American who has a vested interest in the survival of this country should be marshalling their resources and banding with other like-mined individuals to support Gov. Brewer and the legal citizens of Arizona. There should be rallies across the nation championing the courage of Arizona, and an outpouring of letters and emails to our representatives in government, telling them we support Gov. Brewer. Because, nothing less than the future of this country is at stake.
