Poll - Executive Orders/Enabling Acts (7Jul12)

If the election 'goes south' for o'der leader between now and November 6th, watch for a "Reichstag" moment.  "A decision of the Fuhrer in the express form of a law or decree may not be scrutinized by a judge.  In addition, the judge is bound by any other decision of the Fuhrer, provided that they are clearly intended to declare law." -- Adolf Hitler, (1889-1945) German Nazi Dictator

In 1930's/40's Germany, the process was called "enabling acts."  The German word for an enabling act is Ermächtigungsgesetz.  The German word Ermächtigungsgesetz usually refers to the enabling act of March 23, 1933, which became a cornerstone of Adolf Hitler's seizure of power.  The formal name of the Enabling Act was Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich (English: "Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich").
Check Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enabling_act or search for some of the entries on my blog about "Hitler's enabling acts."  It was one of the first things he jammed through after assuming the Chancellorship of Deutchland.  Sound familiar?
