2012 - October Surprise?: Major Kong (videos 56s, 9m10s) EMP?

[Mid-East Scenario]  In American political jargon, an October surprise is a news event with the potential to influence the outcome of an election, particularly one for the U.S. presidency.  The reference to the month of October is because the date for national elections (as well as many state and local elections) occurs between November 2 and 8, and therefore events that take place in late October have greater potential to influence the decisions of prospective voters.  (Wikipedia) [KD consideration]

An electromagnetic pulse (commonly abbreviated EMP) is a burst of electromagnetic radiation.  The abrupt pulse of electromagnetic radiation usually results from certain types of high energy explosions, especially a nuclear explosion, or from a suddenly fluctuating magnetic field.  The resulting rapidly-changing electric fieldsand magnetic fields may couple with electrical/electronic systems to produce damaging current and voltage surges.
In military terminology, a nuclear warhead detonated hundreds of kilometers above the Earth's surface is known as a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) device.  Effects of a HEMP device depend on a very large number of factors, including the altitude of the detonation, energy yieldgamma ray output, interactions with the Earth's magnetic field, and electromagnetic shielding of targets.

'Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb', commonly known as 'Dr. Strangelove', is a 1964 black comedy film which satirizes the nuclear scare.  It was directed, produced, and co-written by Stanley Kubrick, starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott, and featuring Sterling HaydenKeenan Wynn, and Slim Pickens.  The film is loosely based on Peter George's Cold War thriller novel 'Red Alert', also known as 'Two Hours to Doom'.

2012: "The challenges to rid the world of nuclear weapons, harness nuclear power, and meet the nearly inexorable climate disruptions from global warming are complex and interconnected.  In the face of such complex problems, it is difficult to see where the capacity lies to address these challenges.”  Political processes seem wholly inadequate; the potential for nuclear weapons use in regional conflicts in the Middle East, Northeast Asia, and South Asia are alarming; .."  ...source: Doomsday Clock  http://www.thebulletin.org/content/doomsday-clock/overview
