Correction Re: o'mam - A German View on Islam

     Thank you, gawarfco.

I made the spelling change and added the corrected cite info, as shown below, on my blog entry and emailed this correction info to other recipients. -- Again, Thanks., bob.
Origin and Name Corrections
In the email entitled "A German View of Islam", the article was attributed to an author name of Dr. Emanuel Tanya.  The correct name spelling is Dr. Emanuel Tanay...not Tanya (Tanay was cited as the original author.).  However, Dr. Tanay did not author the piece, it was Paul Marek.  Please read the cite correction below. -- rfh
Dr. Tanay did author a telling and equally compelling essay, entitled:
"A MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY" by - Emanuel Tanay, M.D.
Summary of the eRumor:
This is a forwarded article alleged to have been written by Dr. Emanuel Tanay called "A German's View on Islam.
The correct origin of the article is: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/6996,  as Published: Sunday, March 18, 2007

The Truth:
Dr. Emanuel Tanay is real and a holocaust survivor but he did not write this article, nor is he German.  This is an opinion piece that appeared on the web site of Paul Marek, who wrote it in March 2007 under the title of "Why the Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant."

Dr. Emanuel Tanay, the son of Jewish dentists, was born in Russian occupied Vilna in 1928, which is now part of Poland, according to the personal account of his life in a Polish ghetto during the Holocaust.

Marek's article was apparently altered and posted on several reader and comment boards on the World Wide Web.  Some altered versions include Marek as the author and cite Tanay as the original forwarder of the story.

updated 07/30/10
Paul E. Marek is a second-generation Canadian, whose grandparents fled Czechoslovakia just prior to the Nazi takeover.

Wow!  Right on target
A GERMAN VIEW OF ISLAM
This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation that has been read. His references to past history are accurate and clear.  Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read. The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.
