An aside: Mark Levin (radio commentator) brought up an interesting question today...Who walks "Bo" when the Pres is away?  Plus, I'm curious how much we are paying for the dog sitter(s), the movie projectionist(s), the calligraphers, etc. etc.?  Of course, we're already paying for the golf outings too...at about $1.5 mil a round! -- rfh

     Despite all its high-tech gadgetry, communications onboard, and defensive armored plating, the White House limo, known as "The Beast" failed to start this morning shortly before President Barack Obama landed in Tel Aviv.

     Israelis are surprised to see Barack Obama's signature black limousine sitting on the back of a lorry.  One of US President Barack Obama's protective limousines has broken down in Israel.
     The black, heavily guarded limousine experienced mechanical problems before Mr. Obama landed in the country for a state visit.
     The disabled limo was swapped for a back-up, and Mr. Obama's busy itinerary in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Wednesday was unaffected.  "This is why we bring multiple vehicles and a mechanic on all trips," US Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement.
     "Situations like this are planned for extensively by our advance teams so that the President's itinerary is unaffected by these types of issues."  Media reports said the vehicle was mistakenly filled with diesel rather than petrol, but this was not confirmed.
     The US President arrived in the Middle East on Wednesday for a three-day tour of Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
     It is his first trip to the region since he first took office in 2009.

US President Barack Obama's visit to Ireland got a little bumpy on Monday, after his armoured limousine (nicknamed "The Beast") got stuck as it tried to leave the US embassy in Dublin.
