Latest Rasmussen poll (the most accurate in America) has two interesting reports – www.rasmussenreports.com:
1- His Presidential Approval Index is " – 12" vs +30 when Obama took office - a 42% drop in 8 months – which is
unprecedented in modern history.
2- He also reported that 73% of GOP Voters have lost touch with their base! I would like to address this later report.
I consider myself an American first, a Reagan Conservative second and a Republican third! The reason we have too many RINO's and not enough Reagan Conservatives is because too many Republicans got the last two mixed up! I use the parallel events of 1970 in New York to 2009 in New York to illustrate my point.
In 1970, William Buckley encouraged his brother, Jim to run for the NY Senate on the Conservative ticket against what we now call a RINO named William Goodall, Republican candidate. The YAF (Young Americans for Freedom was just getting started with Wm Buckley's help- they now own the Reagan Ranch). The YAF campaigned vigorously because they didn't want a RINO as a Republican! Jim Buckley won the Senate race on the Conservative ticket!
Fast forward to 2009 – We have exactly the same scenario this coming Nov 3rd in New York in the extremely conservative Congressional District 23. The ultra liberal Republican candidate is Dede Scozzafava. If you are sitting down and can believe this ……she has been endorsed by the National Republican Congressional Committee with our own Jeff Sessions – Chairman, and my all time Hero – Jeb Hensarling. I believe Jeff was pressured (or duped) into putting politics before principle just exactly as in 1970 above, and again 6 years ago when George Bush and Rick Santorum flew to Pa. to personally endorse the worst RINO in Republican history- Arlen Specter, the nite before the election! As a result, Specter was elected and Pat Toomey, the Reagan Conservative, who was leading and lost the next day by 10,000 votes out of a million. I was livid and called Roger Williams on his mobile and asked – "who was the idiot who advised that to happen?" He said –"Don, the RNC said if we didn't back Specter, we would lose Pa." I said "You can put this down in your diary – You just lost Pa , and also Rick Santorum, because you infuriated the conservatives & they will stay home! By losing PA – you also led us to losing the senate!

I have been preaching for 47 years as a precinct chairman that "Grassroots Up beats Washington Down" 100% of the Time When We Organize With A Common Sense Purpose and Send Washington Our Message!!!
Based on the above statement – I have not sent the RNC a dime in the last 20 years and I am going to keep my record clean in 2009, because the Club For Growth is 50 times as effective as the RNC – it is a "Washington Down" group which I for one, don't relate to.
My money goes to the true Reagan Conservative group – Club For Growth!
I have said that there are three organizations in Washington that will save this nation from Wasington:
1- Heritage Foundation (Official source for Conservative Truth) www.heritage.org
2- Club For Growth (Dedicated to keeping RINO"S out of Washington and has a 95% success record in doing so.)
They endorsed the Reagan Conservative Hoffman in the above Congressional NY 23rd District because they knew
he would vote 90% of the time with true Conservatives vs "0%" for the ultra liberal Scozzafava.
3- Republican Study Committee (Made up of 115 Reagan Type Conservatives who tell it like it is Vote like Reagan
would, if he were here! www.house.gov/hensarling/rsc
We must listen to the input from these courageous groups and we will again bring Integrity to Washington in 2010 and 2012!
I can't wait for those years to become reality!
