WE'LL MAIL THESE MATERIALS TO YOU, IF YOU CAN USE THEM Friends, the tools below have been used by tens of thousands of activists over NumbersUSA's 14-year history to persuade fellow citizens to get involved in our fight for immigration reduction. We used to constantly offer these tools, but haven't for awhile. Just like our one-of-a-kind faxing system, these materials are free to you because enough activists make voluntary contributions to pay for them. Please look over these items and then send an email to Jasmine (jcarreon@numbersusa.com) telling her how many you want of each. BILL-FOLD-SIZE FOLDOVER CARDS OF RED & GREEN IMMIGRATION / POPULATION CHART CLICK HERE TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE CHART. These are free. This is an incredibly easy way to show people why you are working on the immigration issue and why they should get involved. I have several stuffed into every suit jacket pocket so I always have one. If you will really use them and hand them out, ask for 25. If you tell us of a group setting where you can use them, we'll send you 50 or 100. ORIGINAL CHARTS & GUMBALLS VIDEO That's right this is a video (we don't have the 8-track audio version available!). And it's free. Many of you still have VHS players. If you don't have one of these videos, you may want one for historic nostalgia. This is the 12-minute video that launched the NumbersUSA organization back in 1996. And, yes, I DO look a little younger in this video. This video explains the red and green population/immigration chart you see on the foldover cards. Once this video was put on YouTube and Google videos, more than 6 million people viewed it. But we also have distributed around 100,000 of these videos which have been used to educate civic clubs, family gatherings, veterans groups, religious forums and school classrooms. The numbers on the video are a little outdated (projections are somewhat worse now) but the overall demonstration remains valid. Email Jasmine (jcarreon@numbersusa.com) and she'll send you one. If you have a group and have people who can use the video elsewhere, order up to a dozen of these, let Jasmine know. Be sure to contact Jasmine now, because we will no longer provide videos after this summer. If your group doesn't have access to internet projection, this video is the way to present the information. It has been used thousands of times as the meat of a luncheon presentation. VIDEO OF A HALF-HOUR TV DOCUMENTARY (includes footage of the late Terry Anderson) This video is my charts and gumballs presentations interspersed with documentary footage of situations and grassroots leaders such as Terry. We ran this in a couple of dozen of the country's largest cities on weekends on broadcast stations about a decade ago. Order from us for free. LARGE PAPER FOLD-OUT POSTER OF RED & GREEN CHART Around 100,000 of these posters have been used across the country. They present a lot of the same things as the little billfold-sized foldover chart but fold-out into a large poster of where immigration is taking the country. They are geared especially to the problem of congestion and sprawl in our lives and remind people that the congestion doesn't have to get worse if we would just do something about immigration. If you have a group or go to fairs or conferences where you could distribute these, ask for 100 or 250 or even 500 of these. We want to get the information out. I know some people have taped these to the inside of restroom doors to help spread the word. Lots of creative possibilities. DVD OF CHARTS & GUMBALLS, PLUS NATIONAL MALL 'TUBES' PRESENTATION We don't have many of these but happy to send out single versions. We will soon be posting on You Tube an entirely new and updated version of the charts and gumballs presentation that was recently shot at historic Centre College in Kentucky. As you probably have figured out, some of my staff have persuaded me that it is time to make some room in our storage for newer items. I do not want to throw any of these things away until I know that everybody who might be able to use them has had a chance to make a request for them. The foldover cards are up to date. The posters are very close to the latest information. The videos are not that far off the current numbers but mostly they provide historic markers for our movement and for our organization. You may want a copy as the example of a video that you will show your grandchildren. Or you may be one of a sizeable minority of Americans for whom the VHS is still the primary way of presenting information (and, yes, I still show slides on my slide projector!).
