'USA Today', Friday, October 8, 2010, page B2:
New identification rules for passengers kick in Nov. 1 (By Gary Stoller, USA Today)
"Beginning next month, air travelers must accurately provide basic personal information to receive a boarding pass. The government's Secure Flight program, designed to keep terrorists off planes, requires fliers traveling Nov. 1 and after to provide their date of birth, gender and full name as it appears on a government issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport." Passengers who have erroneously appeared on the Transportation Security Administrtion's "no-fly" list must also provide a code issued by the agency." .. "Aviation consultant Michael Boyd says the program will make it harder for everyone to fly and won't improve security. "It will deter Grandma from visiting the kids," Boyd says. It won't do anything to deter professional terrorists.""
