A Long Time Coming by Phil Brennan - Comment on the column Back around sixth grade my teacher, a Sister of St. Joseph, told my class that we would live to see the day when we would experience the end of the United States as we knew it. We would, she predicted, be faced with communists holding chains in their hands with which to bind us before tossing us into some dark dungeon. That seemed pretty far fetched at the time, but the warning was stern enough to lodge itself in my memory where it has lurked ever since.  It doesn't seem that far fetched now.  The Obama administration is taking the first steps towards establishing an authoritarian socialist regime and they are dead serious in going about it.  Nationalizing health care is their first goal.  Once that's achieved, it will prove a simple task to create laws and programs designed to impose their Marxist agenda upon the nation.
