Yesterday, reports surfaced that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to bring the DREAM Act to the floor for a vote during the lame-duck session, and it could happen as soon as next week.
You've already sent 93,498 faxes and made thousands of more phone calls since the announcement, but we need more help. If you haven't sent your faxes, please do so now. Then, we need you to call your Three Members of Congress at their Capitol Hill offices. The number for the Capitol switchboard is (202) 224-3121. Congress is definitley hearing from the pro-amnesty folks, so we need you to counter those efforts TODAY and make sure Congress hears from the millions of Americans who used their vote last week to oppose Amnesty!
On Election Day, there was a dramatic shift in the Immigration Balance of Power. Speaker Pelosi and the pro-amnesty groups know the lame-duck session may be their last chance to pass the DREAM Act. The bill aims to provide an amnesty for illegal aliens who are college bound or serve in the military, but it goes much further. Millions more illegal aliens would receive the amnesty, and the bill contains no provisions to increase enforcement or secure the border.
It's been a long election season, and we know the winter holidays are right around the corner. The DREAM Act supporters are counting on the fact that amnesty opponents will be distracted during the lame-duck session. Prove them wrong and take 5 minutes to let your Members of Congress know how you feel!

Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs Video - Updated 2010: video source: | Global humanitarian reasons for current U.S. immigration are tested in this updated version of Roy Beck's colorful presentation of data from the World Bank and U.S. Census Bureau. The earlier 1996 version has been one of the most viewed policy presentations on the internet. This updated version dramatically demonstrates the futility of using immigration for social equalization.
