Obama forces Homosexual Weddings in Military Chapels
The Family Research Council has uncovered another violation of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) being forced upon military chaplains on U.S. Military bases by the Obama Administration. Christian chaplains will be forced to support or facilitate homosexual marriage ceremonies, and desecrate their Protestant or Catholic chapels by welcoming sod omite weddings.
"Two weeks ago, the Office of Navy Chaplains shocked everyone by ordering their corps to toss the old training materials and replace them with a version that's more accepting of same-sex 'marriage,'" the report says. "Citing 'additional legal review,' [twisted and forced by the Obama Administration] the Navy says it 'has concluded that...if the base is located in a state where same-sex marriage is legal, then the base facilities may be used to celebrate the marriage...[even if the senior chaplain objects]. This is a change to previous training that stated same-sex marriages are not authorized on federal property."
By pretending that all military chapels which sit on federal land, for example a federal U.S. military base surrounded by the state of Massachusetts, are now under control of the state, Obama has effectively kicked all chapels off of federal land, and given the Christian chapel buildings over to control of pro-homosexual states.
Further down, the Navy Chaplain letter also gives chaplains permission to "marry" homosexuals. "Regarding chaplain participation... a chaplain may officiate a same-sex, civil marriage: if it is conducted in accordance with the laws of the state which permits same-sex marriages or union." Chaplains who decline to perform homosexual marriages will be labeled "not team players" and passed over for promotion. Senior chaplains who try to defend their Christian or Catholic chapel from desecration will be ordered to comply, and punished for disobeying "lawful" orders if they resist.
This is yet another Obama power-grab, not only violating the 1996 DOMA law signed by President Clinton, but a direct assault on the religious liberty of our military chaplains, by converting their Christian houses of worship into pagan brothels. Let's take action, by demanding Congress protect the 1996 DOMA law, which President Obama refuses to defend, and now directly assaults.
After you sent 45,000 faxes to Congress, the Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) finally appointed a new lawyer, Paul Clement, to defend the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the federal law defining marriage as only valid between one man and one woman. Clement is a former solicitor general from the Bush Administration, who now works for Speaker Boehner's marriage commission to do what President Obama and Attorney General Holder refused to do, their duty to enforce federal law.
The Wall Street Journal reports Clement just filed yesterday (Monday) to intervene in a New York marriage case, Windsor v. USA, in which a lesbian couple is suing YOU the taxpayer for homosexual "bonus pay" to avoid their estate taxes, claiming the government should recognize their illegal "marriage."
Sadly, the new legal filing declares that Democrats Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Steny Hoyer (D-MD) refused to support the law passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton.
"The United States House of Representatives has articulated its institutional position in litigation matters through a five-member bipartisan leadership group...The Democratic Leader and the Democratic Whip decline to support the filing of this motion."
Not only that, but Pelosi and Hoyer are trying to make sure the new lawyers don't get paid for doing the job Obama and Holder should be doing, while Speaker Boehner has pledged to withhold funds from Holder's Justice Department, so the pro-marriage lawyers can receive fair wages for doing the job Holder refused. Let's support Speaker Boehner and Paul Clement by making sure YOUR Congressmen and all 100 Senators hear how YOU SUPPORT TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE. Please sign our petition today!
Last month several Democrat Congressmen introduced a surprise bill to repeal DOMA, the 1996 Defense of [Traditional] Marriage Act, forcing homosexual "marriage" on all 50 states. To date ZERO U.S. Senators have yet joined the House effort to defend DOMA in court.
Led by 3 openly homosexual Congressmen Barney Frank (D-MA, pictured right-->), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Jared Polis (D-CO), several Dems will hold a press conference today introducing their falsely named "Respect for Marriage Act" which actually destroys traditional marriage between one man and one woman, by granting federal benefits to gay couples (aka homosexual bonus pay) with YOUR tax dollars.
While many Republicans in the House may (or may not) oppose this radical bill, the prospects for passage of homosexual marriage in the U.S. Senate are strong, since pro-homosexual Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) controls the voting schedule, and could attach such a bill to the Pentagon budget, like he did last year to pass "Hate Crimes."
If Barney Frank's and Harry Reid's DOMA repeal eventually passed conference committee with the House, it would no doubt be signed by President Obama, who last month ordered his "Justice" Department to stop defending the 1996 DOMA law passed by both houses of Congress and signed by President Clinton. Without any defense lawyers, homosexual "marriage" could be imposed on all 50 states by liberal courts. Last week, after we faxed 42,000 petitions to all Congressmen, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) appointed a committee who may soon appoint a lawyer to defend the law, since Obama won't.
Bottom line: DOMA is now in danger a third time, not only from activist courts, not only from the President, but now from the U.S. Congress, since most Democrats hate traditional marriage between one man and one woman.
Sadly, ZERO Senators have yet joined Speaker Boehner's effort to appoint a lawyer to defend the 1996 DOMA law, compounding the problem severely. Let's send a message by faxing all 100 Senators our petition to defend traditional marriage and DOMA in court, and stop Barney Frank's homosexual agenda in its tracks.
Christian Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), pictured right, was asked by liberal blogger Scott Keyes concerning Obama's and Holder's failure to defend DOMA, "I know Newt Gingrich came out and said if they don't reverse course here, we ought to be talking about possibly impeaching either Attorney General Holder or even President Obama to try to get them to reverse course. Do you think that is something you would support?" To this question Franks replied, "If it could gain the collective support, absolutely."
The blogger also asked Franks: "What recourse does Congress have? Could you, for instance, defund the Department of Justice (DOJ) if they don't reverse course and start to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act?" To which Franks answered, "That's probably the strongest leverage that we have." Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) may soon appoint a special counsel to defend the law. Funds to the liberal DOJ could be reduced to pay conservative lawyers to defend DOMA, if enough Congressmen support that.
Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore told WND.com that his organization, the Foundation for Moral Law, has filed an amicus brief to defend the federal definition of marriage between one man and one woman.
"I'm glad we didn't elect to depend on the president to defend our law," Judge Moore said. "I hope now Congress will step up and take up the battle where the president has stopped...Basically, he's not upholding the rule of law." Let's stand with Franks and Moore to demand Congress defend traditional marriage and the 1996 DOMA law.
Congress has not yet appointed a special counsel to defend the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act in a Connecticut case where two lesbians are demanding a $363,053 tax refund (aka homosexual "bonus pay") from the federal government. The two lesbian lovers were reportedly "married" in Canada but not America, and when one died, the other could no longer evade paying estate taxes, so the surviving lesbian hired the ACLU to sue the United States to recognize homosexual "marriage," and collect their six figure tax-rebate check. Then last month President Obama directed Attorney General Holder to stop defending the case, essentially conceding your tax dollars must now pay the lesbian couples taxes, and pay their ACLU lawyers, and recognize homosexual "marriage" as lawful, not only in Connecticut, but in all 50 states nationwide.
Yahoo News reported: "The Justice Department will also drop its defense in a similar case in Connecticut federal court with seven plaintiffs. Each plaintiff in the Connecticut case is a surviving same-sex partner who is being denied benefits because the federal government doesn't recognize the marriage. Attorney General Eric Holder has informed House Speaker John Boehner that he or other members of Congress may defend the law if they choose. No one has officially stepped forward yet to take on the defense."
Did I read that correctly? Not one single Senator is yet willing to defend the 1996 DOMA law that defines marriage between one man and one woman? Why aren't they sending lawyers to court? I don't understand their delay. Let's take action, by calling 202-224-3121 to demand YOUR Senator defend the lawsuit, and defend traditional marriage as only sacred between ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN. You could even call the same phone number 100 times to ask ALL Senators why they don't care to defend traditional marriage in court, as Holder has invited them to do. Don't have time to make 100 phone calls? Please sign our petition, and we'll auto-fax all 100 Sens with YOUR NAME on each page.
The Justice Department had defended the act in court until this winter. The move quickly drew praise from homosexual Congressman Barney Frank who told TPM news: "It's great news...I got some indication they were thinking about their position and I urged them to go ahead with it. I thought there would be no political problem." The move drew swift rebuke from Speaker John Boehner (R-OH)'s spokesman Michael Steel: "While Americans want Washington to focus on creating jobs and cutting spending, the president will have to explain why he thinks now is the appropriate time to stir up a controversial issue that sharply divides the nation."
But here's the good news: The Hill newspaper reports AG Holder left open the possibility that individual Congressmen would be permitted to defend DOMA law. "While both the wisdom and the legality of Section 3 of DOMA will continue to be the subject of both extensive litigation and public debate, this administration will no longer assert its constitutionality in court," Holder said. "I have informed Members of Congress of this decision, so Members who wish to defend the statute may pursue that option. The Department will also work closely with the courts to ensure that Congress has a full and fair opportunity to participate in pending litigation."
But is your Senator willing to defend DOMA in court? If not, then all 50 states will be forced to embrace homosexual "marriage" by President Obama's failure to defend the law in courts everywhere, nationwide. Let's take action...
Friends, our nation will soon endorse homosexual "marriage" in all 50 states, if your Senator doesn't take a stand to defend DOMA, since Obama won't. Let's take a stand today, and demand Senators defend the 1996 DOMA law in court.
