If Mitt wins the nomination, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy.  For my friends who have hesitation on that score, I'd just ask you to keep four things in mind:

1. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago.
        In addition, Justice Ginsburg has Pancreatic Cancer.  Justice Stephens has already said he would retire and is just waiting for Obama to be reelected.  The next president could appoint as many as 4 new Justices over next 8 years.  This election is about more than ObamaCare Tax.
     We wish them all well, of course, but the brute fact is that whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one new member of the Supreme Court, in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
     If you don't think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you're smokin' something funky. 
     So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didn't get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win, imagine this:

SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER
After you have stopped gasping, kindly send this forward to your list of concerned citizens.

2nd - Man gets 60 days in jail over home Bible studies

A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 60 days in jail after he refused to stop hosting Bible studies in the privacy of his home – in violation of the city's building code laws.Read & Comment

     A Phoenix man has been sentenced to 60 days in jail after he refused to stop hosting Bible studies in the privacy of his home – in violation of the city's building code laws.
     However, the Phoenix city prosecutor's office said the violations have nothing to do with religious freedom — and everything to do with public safety.
     "It came down to zoning and proper permitting," said Vicki Hill, the chief assistant city prosecutor. "Any time you are holding a gathering of people continuously as he does — we have concerns about people being able to exit the facility properly in case there is a fire — and that's really all this comes down to."
     According to court documents provided to Fox News Radio, Michael Salman was found guilty in the City of Phoenix Court of 67 code violations. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail along with three years probation and a $12,180 fine. He could be jailed as early as next week unless the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals grants an emergency injunction.
     "They're cracking down on religious activities and religious use," Salman told Fox News Radio. "They're attacking what I as a Christian do in the privacy of my home."
     "If I had people coming to my home on a regular basis for poker night or Monday Night Football, it would be permitted," he said. "But when someone says to us we are not allowed to gather because of religious purposes – that is when you have discrimination."

     However, the Arizona courts consistently ruled against Salman – ultimately declaring that he was engaged in church activities and that the city did not violate his constitutional rights to religious freedom.
     The long-running feud between Salman and the City of Phoenix culminated in the summer of 2009 when nearly a dozen police along with city inspectors raided their home. Armed with a search warrant, police confined the Salman family to the living room as they combed the property looking for violations.
     Salman is the owner of Mighty Mike's Burgers — and he is also an ordained pastor. He and his wife have been hosting Bible studies on their 4.6 acre property since 2005. The gatherings were originally attended by as many as 15 people.
     Hill said the city became aware of the meetings after neighbors apparently complained about traffic congestion.
     In 2007 they received a letter from the city informing them that the Bible studies were not permitted in their living room because it was in violation of the construction code.
     A few months later, members of the Phoenix Fire Dept. broke up the family's Good Friday fellowship. As many as 20 people were in their backyard eating a meal when firefighters threatened to call the police – unless their guests left the premises.
     "Immediately after that, we decided to contact an attorney," Salman told Fox News Radio. "The city emphasized that bible studies or church-related activities are not permitted on residences because you have non-family members coming to the home and such use is considered church use."
     In the summer of 2008 firefighters once again broke up a gathering – and Salman finally reached his breaking point. He ordered the firefighters to leave his property.
     "We told them they had no right," he said. "They had been harassing us since February. This is our home. We are a private gathering. This is Christians gathering on my private property."
     The city ignored the Salmans until 2009 – when they built a 2,000 square foot building in their backyard. Salman said he applied for and was granted the proper building permits. He also said the building has passed a city inspection.
     "At that point we took our Bible study from our living room – and we moved it into that building," he said. "We started worshipping in that building every weekend."
     However, Hill said Salman has "mischaracterized the facts" of the permit. She said he was given a permit to convert a garage into a game room.
     "Any other occupancy or use – business, commercial, assembly, church, etc, is expressly prohibited pursuant to the city of Phoenix building code and ordinances," she told Fox News Radio.
     On June 11, 2009, the Phoenix Police Dept. showed up with a search warrant. When they had completed the search, Salman was charged with 67 code violations.
     He was charged with not having emergency exit signs over the doors. He was charged with not having handicap parking spaces and not having handicap ramps.
     "Imagine everything that a public building would have or a commercial building would have," he said. "Anything we didn't have was a violation."
     The largest source of contention has been whether or not Salman is running a church. He insists it is not.
     But his building certainly resembles a church. It has chairs for as many as 40 people. There is a pulpit. There's a sign out front – along with a cross.
     "Just because visitors come to my home three times a week and we discuss the Bible – if that's their definition of a church then so be it," he said.
     "At what point does the government have the right to state that you cannot have family and friends over at your home three times a week?" he asked. "People have a right to gather on their property as long as parking is available, as long as they aren't parking in the street, as long as they aren't violating noise ordinances."
     Hill said the facts are clear.
     "He built a structure that he said wasn't a church — that is in fact — a church," she said. "It's a church."
     And the courts agreed — noting in a Jan. 4, 2010 ruling: "The state is not saying the Salmans can't run a church or have worship services at the location. But the state is saying that if they do so, they must do it properly and in accord with fire and zoning codes."

     Salman's attorney has filed an appeal with the federal court – and unless they intervene – Salman will start serving his sentence on July 9.

Federal Agents Told to Reduce Border Arrests This is no April Fool's joke!      An Arizona sheriff will be testifying under oath next month that U.S. Border Patrol officials have repeatedly told him to reduce - at times even stop - arrests of illegal immigrants caught trying to cross the U.S. border.      Just today, Minuteman PAC heard of this outrageous deception put forth by the Obama Administration in a desperate attempt to make Sec. of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano's claim that the border was more secure than ever, match with the statistics.      Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever revealed that a supervisor with the U.S. Border Patrol told him as recently as this month that the federal agency's office on Arizona's southern border was under orders to keep apprehension numbers down during specific reporting periods.      The senior supervisor with the U.S. Border Patrol then went on to explain about how their mission is not to 'scare people back' and that the supervisor had to go back to his guys and "tell them not to catch anybody, that their job is to chase people away?" "They were not to catch anyone, arrest anyone. Their job was to set up posture, to intimidate people, to get them to go back."       Sheriff Dever plans to relay the substance of these conversations when he testifies under oath next month before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.      Dever's charges were vigorously denied by a commander with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection saying "the mission of Border Patrol - does not waiver based on political climate."   Sure it doesn't.      The Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Border Patrol have already come under fire for the methodology used and conclusions drawn 'showing' that the U.S.-Mexico border is more secure.      Regardless of methodology, Sheriff Dever said the numbers Sec. I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz ... We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims.  In  Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent.  We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world. 

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned. 

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride. 

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime. 

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts. 

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. 

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs. 

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe!!

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?  So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.  They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honour winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

HERE'S AN IDEA:  "JAIL VS. NURSING HOME"

Let's put the seniors in jail, and the criminals in a nursing home. 

This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks, they'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs etc. and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.  Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes, and bring their meals and snacks to their cell.  They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight room,spiritual counselling, pool, and education, simple clothing, shoes, slippers, P.J.'s and legal aid would be free, on request.

Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard, with gardens.   Each senior could have a P.C., T.V., Radio, and daily phone calls.  

There would be a board of directors, to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.

The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone, and unsupervised.   Lights off at 8 pm, and showers once a week. 

Live in a tiny room, and pay $5000.00 per month and have no hope of ever getting out.

Are these just the words of a few extremists?  Consider that we could fill up many pages with such quotes.  Also, consider that these are mainstream Mexican leaders.

THE  U.S.  VS  MEXICO:
On February 15, 1998, the U.S. and Mexican soccer teams met at the Los Angeles Coliseum.  The crowd was overwhelmingly pro-Mexican even though most lived in this country.  They booed during the National Anthem and U.S. flags were held upside down.  As the match progressed, supporters of the U.S. team were insulted, pelted with projectiles, punched and spat upon.  Beer and trash were thrown at the U.S. players before and after the match.  The coach of the U.S. team, Steve Sampson said, "This was the most painful experience I have ever had in this profession."

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European countries can come to this country and get preferences in jobs, education, and government contracts?  It's called affirmative action or racial privilege.  The Emperor of Japan or the President of Mexico could migrate here and immediately be eligible for special rights unavailable for Americans of European descent.  Recently, a vote was taken in the U.S. Congress to end this practice.  It was defeated.  Every single Democratic senator except Ernest Hollings voted to maintain special privileges for Hispanic, Asian and African immigrants.  They were joined by thirteen Republicans.  Bill Clinton and Al Gore have repeatedly stated that they believe that massive immigration from countries like Mexico is good.  They have also backed special privileges for these immigrants.

Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third world immigrants should get special, privileged status.  Some examples are Exxon, Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and many more.

Did you know that Mexico regularly intercedes on the side of the defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals?  Did you know that Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican national accused of murder in the U.S. in spite of agreements to do so?  According to the L.A. Times, Orange County, California is home to 275 gangs with 17,000 members; 98% of which are Mexican and Asian.  How's your county doing?

According to a New York Times article dated May 19, 1994, 20 years after the great influx of legal immigrants from Southeast Asia, 30% are still on welfare compared to 8% of households nationwide.  A Wall Street Journal editorial dated December 5, 1994 quotes law enforcement officials as stating that Asian mobsters are the "greatest criminal challenge the country faces."  Not bad for a group that is still under 5% of the population.

Is education important to you?  Here are the words of a teacher who spent over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system.  "Imagine teachers in classes containing 30-40 students of widely varying attention spans and motivation, many of whom aren't fluent in English.  Educators seek learning materials likely to reach the majority of students and that means fewer words and math problems and more pictures and multicultural references."

When I was young, I remember hearing about the immigrants that came through Ellis Island.  They wanted to learn English.  They wanted to breath free.  They wanted to become Americans.  Now too many immigrants come here with demands.  They demand to be taught in their own language.  They demand special privileges--affirmative action.  They demand ethnic studies that glorify their culture.

The 287(g) Program

WASHINGTON (October 27, 2009) – The 287(g) program was created by Congress in 1996 to enhance cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. The Obama administration has imposed new rules for the 287(g) program that unduly constrain the local partners and could allow more alien scofflaws identified by local agencies to remain here. But even with these changes, based on unsubstantiated criticism from ethnic and civil liberties groups, the 287(g) program remains an effective tool in immigration law enforcement and local crime-fighting.

A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies examines in detail the 287(g) program's history, status, and results, concluding with a number of recommendations for improvement. The report, "The 287(g) Program: Protecting Home Towns and Homeland," by Jessica Vaughan and James R. Edwards, Jr., is based on interviews with participating local law enforcement agencies (LEAs), statistics and reports provided by local LEAs, and data provided by ICE through a FOIA request.

Among the findings:

• About 1,000 officers from 67 law enforcement agencies have been trained and participate in the program. With 9 new agencies joining and a handful of agencies dropping out in 2009, the total number of participating agencies as of October 2009 is 73.
  
• 287(g) officers lodged immigration charges on more than 81,000 illegal or criminal aliens between January 2006 and November 2008, according to data provided by ICE.
  
• In 2008, the number of 287(g) arrests (45,368) was equal to one-fifth of all criminal aliens identified by ICE in prisons and jails nationwide that year (221,085). The program has flagged a large number of known serious and/or violent offenders, as well as some low-level offenders still at the bottom of the criminal behavior escalator. Illegal aliens targeted by the program have been identified as a result of involvement in local law-breaking in addition to immigration law-breaking.
  
• While 287(g) agencies use the authority mainly to identify and process illegal aliens who have committed additional crimes, Congress never intended the program to be limited to that use. Lawmakers intended for local agency partners to use the authority for local law enforcement priorities and according to local needs, which may or may not be the same as federal priorities.
  
• Participating agencies credit the 287(g) program as a major factor in reduced local crime rates, smaller inmate populations, and lower criminal justice costs.
  
• 287(g) is cost-effective — much less expensive than other criminal alien identification programs such as Secure Communities and Fugitive Operations. For example, in 2008 ICE spent $219 million to remove 34,000 fugitive aliens (mostly criminals). In 2008, ICE was given $40 million for 287(g), which produced more than 45,000 arrests of aliens who were involved in state and local crimes. In Harris County, Texas, the billion-dollar ICE Secure Communities interoperability program found about 1,718 removable aliens in its first six months beginning late in 2008; meanwhile the locally paid 287(g) officers in the same jail system charged about 5,000 criminal aliens over the same time period.
  
• 287(g) is a force multiplier. In 2008, the Colorado state 287(g) unit alone made 777 immigration arrests. In that same year the entire ICE investigations office based in Denver, which covers all of Colorado and several other states, made a total of 1,594 arrests. In Maricopa County, Arizona, the local ICE detention and removal manager supervises five ICE deportation agents, who are supplemented by 64 additional locally paid county jail 287(g) officers who also identify and process criminal aliens.
  
• The largest number of agreements have been signed for 287(g) programs in correctional institutions, such as county jails or state prisons. These programs were responsible for 91 percent of the 287(g) arrests over the period we studied.
  
• The task force/investigative 287(g) programs provide equally important crime-fighting benefits and are a useful tool to address such illegal immigration-related crime problems as alien smuggling, drugs, street gangs, and identity theft.
  
• The Colorado, Arizona, and Alabama 287(g) programs have boosted ICE efforts to combat alien smuggling, which has been neglected since the agency's formation.
  
• Notwithstanding allegations from immigrant and civil liberties advocates, there have been no confirmed instances of racial profiling, discrimination, or other abuse of authority under the 287(g) program. There is no evidence whatsoever of a "chilling effect" on crime reporting in the 287(g) jurisdictions.
  
• The waiting list for 287(g) is long — reportedly one to three years from the time of request to join until implementation.
  
• The biggest obstacle to improving and expanding the 287(g) program is the lack of funding for bed space to detain illegal aliens discovered by local agencies to have committed crimes. As a result, ICE currently is removing fewer than half of the criminal aliens identified under 287(g). Several states have submitted proposals to ICE to help alleviate this problem, but ICE has not acted to increase funding for bed space, even as it claims to prioritize the removal of criminal aliens.
