osama laughter - DHS Sec't. Napolitano "interview" ("It Stinks!" Diana West, Cagle Blogs)
Chatting with ‘Big Sis’ About Toughening Up
By Diana West | We.24Nov10 | http://blog.cagle.com/2010/11/24/chatting-with-big-sis-about-toughening-up/![]() |
Washington Times columnist Diana West |
This rankles. It is also something new in my personal experience. Sure, I have conducted scores of one-on-one interviews “on background,” a term which, in brief, I define as a means to acquire an understanding of a story from a source unwilling to be quoted directly, at least at first. Follow-up conversations may or may not be “on the record.” But I have never participated as a member of a group so bound, and I have to say I don’t like it.
First of all, it’s a phony setup. Telling 15 or 20 people in a room a secret is obviously no way to keep one, no way to keep anything confidential. There are simply too many people involved, each with his own private pipeline to public access. Something else is afoot. Making the journalist into a kind of co-conspirator? Or, as bad, a supplicant begging for morsels of information?
The point, we are told, is to allow for a no-holds-barred exchange — attractive on its face, maybe, but in the end, when you actually have to go back and ask for permission to print a government official’s response to questions every American has the right to ask, the exchange is very much barred. In sum, the state is managing the news.
So why did I participate? Curiosity. I wanted to see “Big Sis” in person. I was curious also how an event billed as “off the record” — which to my understanding means “total blackout, didn’t happen, can’t use it” — could be selectively switched to “on the record” by government diktat. I wanted to see how our brave new world works.
I didn’t “clear” my impressions of Napolitano the person, so I’ll have to leave them “off the record.” I did e-mail the press secretary for permission (gag) to report two particular points Napolitano made. What follows is how I played along with the state, almost as a lark. (PS. I don’t claim it’s pretty).
“Hi, Sean - Good to hear from you.
“Two main points I’d like to be able to write up:
“1) After the main discussion I had the opportunity to ask the Secretary whether she envisioned this security situation ever abating — for example, whether she could foresee conditions under which the current scanners might be removed. Or whether, as she told us earlier, it would be necessary for Americans to toughen up, stay involved (indefinitely) … I would like to be able to report that I spoke to the Secretary on this topic and that she indicated that in the future the current scanner technology could someday be replaced by less obtrusive technology, including less obviously invasive security checks that might not require taking off shoes, etc. …”
The answer came back from on high: “Yes, but you should also put into context that there are no current plans to move off the current technologies and procedures.”
Context so ordered.
(I will not convey my second question because the e-mailed answer — “I’d like to see how you formulate it” — ratcheted state control outside the bounds of my experiment.)
Napolitano’s vision of our techno-future, however, is devastating. If, as she makes clear, our government has no conception of a plan to end this untenable security situation stemming from the jihad in progress, our government has admitted defeat, and is merely managing the aftermath of capitulation. In its colossal failure of imagination and responsibility, the government has abandoned its primary purpose — to defend the citizenry. Thus, every time we the people go to the airport (now and apparently forever the nation’s forward front) we are expected to “toughen up” and make up a pathetic first line of defense — unarmed, unshod, de-toothpasted and, now, disrobed by scanners and violated by government workers — until, happy day, the technology is “less obviously intrusive.”
There’s no managing that news. It stinks.
Washington Times columnist Diana West is a conservative with a strong bent for cultural commentary, West explores topics few writers touch upon - from whether Islam is really a religion of peace, to bizarre efforts to protect children from Mothers Day - presenting all in a deft, often humorous manner. osama laughter - satire: TSA respects privacy (of, guess who?)
Good news! The TSA has finally started respecting privacy
Published: Friday, November 26, 2010, Updated: Sunday, November 28, 2010

Imagine this guy with his hands down your pants:
ATLANTA -- Channel 2 Action News has learned a TSA security worker accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a woman had previously been convicted of misdemeanor harassment and stalking.
Randall King remains hospitalized following a suicide attempt. Police said last Wednesday, King agreed to drive a woman home from the airport. Instead, investigators said King took her to a MARTA station parking lot and placed novelty handcuffs on her.
Later on in the article there's this gem: A spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration said privacy laws precluded him from releasing any background information on King.
Wait a minute, the agency that wants to know whether a woman is using a tampon before she gets on a plane has suddenly developed a respect for privacy?
In fact, the suspect's offenses were on the public record and an enterprising reporter uncovered them:
Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Regan reviewed court records from Clinton County, Pennsylvania. According to the records, King was charged with nine offenses of harassment and stalking by communication in January 2001. A court clerk told Regan that King pleaded guilty and spent three months in jail for skipping a court appearance.
It turns out that the TSA doesn't consider those offenses disqualifying, even though the guy did three months in jail. But then again, you can't be too picky when you're hiring people off pizza boxes.
The slogan on those boxes, by the way, is "A career where X-ray vision and federal benefits come standard."
Offering X-ray vision to potential hires? That's a great way to screen out deviants!
Memo to Obama: Time for Janet to go.
ALSO: Every time someone compares the conduct of TSA agents to the Nazis, some commenter weighs in with the usual complaint that this cheapens the Holocaust. Murray Sabrin doesn't think so - and his father was a Jewish resistance leader in Poland during World War II.

osama laughter - Achtung!, Quotes, TSA 'toons, opine, Epilogue (PG-13, risqué)
Achtung! Achtung! Jewish Congress members whose own may have preceded us! The 1st 'toon below immediatley brings to mind images that some in the East, and its followers here in America deny! That is ... condemning us untermenschen to a "solution" that needs a problem, unlike you Übermensch who enjoy VIP status.
I'm sure the current TSA o'who's "Key Stone Cops" solution to the latest Muslim air terrorist [oops, "man-caused"] threat isn't his "final solution." o'humpty dumpty's "security force" at our airports will be ordered to feel further into your privacy ... rather, your private parts! And they don't even have the common courtesy to give you a "reach-around."
For a while, starting in 1998, I kept a page of links at http://harrold.org/rfhextra/privacy.html pointing to "Big Brother" and government's potential to abuse the citizenry that it supposedly is elected to represent. From martial law plans to Waco '93/Ruby Ridge '92, to attempts to usurp the Constitution, especially the 1st, 2nd and 4th Amendments, by the government, regardless of party or 'der leader', I tried to post something pointing to the dangers of our creeping into a "Police State" in which a law abiding citizen who believes and advocates Traditional American Values might be labeled "Enemy of the State."
Since '98 there has been "one crisis after another" be it "man-caused", using o'mam's terminology or nature caused as in Katrina '05, that government has used as an excuse to justify: 1st) to disarm (Or they will shoot you!) and 2nd) to start 'kicking in doors' without warrants and seizing your property ... now it's getting down'n dirty and individualized. Each time TSA "processes" you, consider that most all of these government 'knee-jerk' reactive actions erode and chip away at the Constitution that its representatives swore to uphold.
I say to those who are cowed by the Muslim terrorist threats and who go forth willing to be treated like cattle, nay sheep, you are akin to those who were lined up, stripped naked, and sent one way to slavery and the others to immediate extermination ... when they were forced to line up at the gate while being lulled by Wagnerian refrains.
Consider some the quotes below before looking at the 'toons further down. Maybe they won't be so funny afterward. As Mr. Durst opines below the 'toons ... the TSA o'bamanations are but a stepping stone to "show me your papers" and "bend over" at subways, bus stations, trains, ships at sea, government buildings, large gatherings, to when they drive by with their "see into your car van" that's already coming to a 'road-block' or highway 'check-point' near you.
If you walk or drive across the border, alien or otherwise, you'll be treated with more respect than a law abiding American who encounters TSA. Border searches can be, but rarely are, as demeaning to someone like those hapless souls who have to board one of the 5,000 planes overhead each day. I know, I used to do them!

o'bamastapo wanted 'a domestic security force, as strong as the military ...just as well funded' ... so when you next choose to be fondled in order to be "allowed" to board a plane, remember ... it started out slowly under der Führer too.
Last ... What kind of government have you elected whose actions can only be described by gutter language? Were you to commit the same acts and assaults upon strangers that you encounter, you would be summarily arrested, tried, convicted, and sentenced for having committed criminal acts and you would spend a long time in jail and afterward be labeled a 'sex offender' and be 'branded' for the rest of your life as one to be shunned from normal society. Shame on o'touchy feely and shame on his TSA henchmen. (After all, they too were only "just following orders:" ...Himmler, Goebbels, the SS, the Gestapo ...right down to the ordinary guards!)

"They that would give up essential liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -- Thomas Paine
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
"In Germany they (the Nazis) came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up." -- Pastor Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemöller (1892 – 1984) 1946, .. a prominent German anti-Nazi theologian and Lutheran pastor. (arrested by the Gestapo in 1937 and sent to Dachau in 1938. He was freed by the allied forces in 1945.
"Ask the first man you meet what he means by defending freedom, and he'll tell you privately he means defending the standard of living." -- Reverend Martin Niemoeller (1892-1984) German Lutheran pastor, was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Dachau in 1938. He was freed by the allied forces in 1945.
"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, If it ever reach us it must spring up among us, it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die of suicide." -- Abraham Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois, Jan. 1837
"Absolute power corrupts even when exercised for humane purposes. The benevolent despot who sees himself as a shepherd of the people still demands from others the submissiveness of sheep. The taint inherent in absolute power is not its inhumanity but its anti-humanity." -- Eric Hoffer (1902-1983) American author, philosopher, awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom; source: The Ordeal of Change (1963), Chapter 15
"It is fundamental that the great powers of Congress to conduct war and to regulate the Nation's foreign relations are subject to the constitutional requirements of due process. The imperative necessity for safeguarding these rights to procedural due process under the gravest of emergencies has existed throughout our constitutional history, for it is then, under the pressing exigencies of crisis, that there is the greatest temptation to dispense with fundamental constitutional guarantees which, it is feared, will inhibit governmental action." -- Justice Arthur Goldberg, US Supreme Court Justice; source: Kennedy v. Mendoza-Martinez, 1963
Warning: "We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order." -- David Rockefeller
Warning: "We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans." -- President Bill Clinton, USA Today, March 11th 1993 page 2a
"He must be stopped or the United States will cease to exist."..."We are in the midst of the greatest crisis this nation has ever seen ... chaos, and civil war ... an alleged usurper ... destroying our borders ... infanticide ... this is insanity ... we are claiming that a bankrupt government can save a bankrupt banking system ... this is insanity." -- Alan Keyes (19Feb09)
"...[W]e insist on the principle that no danger or crisis, foreign or domestic, will be solved by Americans surrendering more of their constitutional liberties, in the foolish hope that a bigger government will provide greater security." -- Larry P. Arnn (1952- ) President of Hillsdale College, MI
"Every collectivist revolution rides in on a Trojan horse of 'emergency. It was the tactic of Lenin, Hitler, and Mussolini. In the collectivist sweep over a dozen minor countries of Europe, it was the cry of men striving to get on horseback. And 'emergency' became the justification of the subsequent steps. This technique of creating emergency is the greatest achievement that demagoguery attains." -- Herbert Hoover (1874-1964), 31st US President
"Emergency does not create power. Emergency does not increase granted power or remove or diminish the restrictions imposed upon power granted or reserved. The Constitution was adopted in a period of grave emergency. Its grants of power to the federal government and its limitations of the power of the States were determined in the light of emergency, and they [limitations] are not altered by emergency." -- Justice Charles Evans Hughes (1862-1948) Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court; source: Home Building & Loan Assn v. Blairsdell, 1934
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." -- Thomas Jefferson
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." -- Thomas Jefferson
"All societies are based on rules to protect pregnant women and young children. All else is surplusage, excrescence, adornment, luxury, or folly which can --and must-- be dumped in emergency to preserve this prime function. As racial survival is the only universal morality, no other basic is possible. Attempts to formulate a "perfect society" on any foundation other than "Women and children first!" is no only witless, it is automatically genocidal. Nevertheless, starry-eyed idealists (all of them male) have tried endlessly -- and no doubt will keep on trying." -- Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988) American writer; "The Notebooks of Lazarus Long", © 2004 by Robert A. Heinlein, Simon and Schuster, NYC NY, 2004. Baen Publishing Enterprises; Windhaven Press; ISBN: 0-7434-8844-X
Warning: "We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." -- Ayn Rand (1905-1982) Author
"Americans find it intolerable that one constitutional right should have to be surrendered in order to assert another. America is the land of the free and home of the brave -- we don't need a Patriot Act, because we are already patriots. We know freedom means responsibility, but I am not sure Congress and its domestic enforcement agencies do. More often than not, new security measures enacted by the government have resulted in more violations of the citizenry than terrorists have ever done. The terrorists want us to be afraid -- well, we are not afraid. Stop wasting dollars on this program -- it is not good for America. To give up essential liberty for a little security provides neither. The right to be left alone from government intrusion is the beginning of all freedoms." -- Eric Schaub (Individualist, activist, speaker, author) 2009-12-15; source: letter to Congress, December 15th, 2009
"[W]e have to realize that the real problem is that the American people have been too submissive. We have been too submissive. It has been going on for a long time. ... [T]he bill that I have introduced ... is very simple. It is one paragraph long. It removes the immunity from anybody in the Federal government that does anything that you or I can't do. If you can't grope another person and if you can't X-ray people and endanger them with possible X-rays, [and] you can't take nude photographs of individuals, why do we allow the government to do it? We would go to jail. He would be immediately arrested, if an individual citizen went up and did these things, and yet we just sit there and calmly say, 'oh, they are making us safe.' And besides, the argument from the executive branch is that when you buy a ticket, you have sacrificed your rights and it is the duty of the government to make us safe. That isn't the case. You never have to sacrifice your rights. The duty of the government is to protect our rights, not to use them and do what they have been doing to us." -- Ron Paul (1935-) American physician, US Congressman (R-TX), US Presidential candidate; source: Congressional Record, Nov. 17, 2010
"The Constitution of the United States is a law for rulers and people, equally in war and in peace, and covers with the shield of its protection all classes of men, at all times, and under all circumstances. No doctrine, involving more pernicious consequences, was ever invented by the wit of man than that any of its provisions can be suspended during any of the great exigencies of government. Such a doctrine leads directly to anarchy or despotism, but the theory of necessity on which it is based is false; for the government, within the Constitution, has all the powers granted to it, which are necessary to preserve its existence; as has been happily proved by the result of the great effort to throw off its just authority." -- Justice David Davis (1815-1886) U.S. Supreme Court Justice 1862-1877; source: Ex parte Milligan 71 U.S. 2 (1866) DAVIS, J., Opinion of the Court
"It has been thought a considerable advance towards establishing the principles of Freedom, to say, that government is a compact between those who govern and those that are governed: but this cannot be true, because it is putting the effect before the cause; for as man must have existed before governments existed, there necessarily was a time when governments did not exist, and consequently there could originally exist no governors to form such a compact with. The fact therefore must be, that the individuals themselves, each in his own personal and sovereign right, entered into a compact with each other to produce a government: and this is the only mode in which governments have a right to arise, and the only principle on which they have a right to exist." -- Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero, (106-43 B.C.) Roman Statesman, Philosopher and Orator; source: Attributed. 58 BC, Speech in the Roman Senate

One thing you can say about this whole TSA enhanced pat-down mess: nobody will ever board Virgin Airlines again without ruefully grimacing. Folks are flipping out like wolverines bouncing off of submarine trampolines over new regulations requiring a prospective flier to submit to having his or her naughty bits exposed for all the world to see, or else agree to a groinal groping that would have our ancestors' fathers brandishing shotguns outside of rural chapels or contemporary school children showing Federal Marshalls on the doll where the nasty agent put his hands. Equal representation under the glove would also be nice. VIPs are exempt from screening, but nobody will divulge who qualifies as a VIP. That's classified. Isn't everything? We're in the thick of classified creep. How long before it's illegal for civilians to videotape pat-downs due to "national security," the federal equivalent of "Because I said so, that's why." Not to mention arresting so-called comedians for talking trash. "Don't taze my junk, bro."

Body Search Cartoons by all the top cartoonists! |
The flying experience is in the throes of a death spiral, from the evaporation of our nuts and pillows and checked baggage to shedding shoes and surrendering fluids and providing peeks under our underwear to being frisked like common criminals. Where does it stop? What happens when some flippo-unit tries to blow something up with zipper-shaped plastique? Will only the Amish fly? A single button bomb could result in us all wearing robes, and then the terrorists do win.
How soon before we add body-cavity searches to the casual molestations in our preflight checklists? Precipitating few outcries even when the airlines try to make some extra coin by piggybacking prostate exams. In the meantime, we fly the overly friendly skies and do whatever they want of us cattle and sheep: bend and cough and walk a little funny and act like nothing happened. More static and drool.
In the meantime, just direct me to whichever TSA screener didn't volunteer for the job. And no ex-priests, if you please. I might even wriggle and giggle and blush and bloom and slip the man attached to the blue rubber glove a card. Hey, they're intent on creeping us out, why not return the favor? One last question: are we supposed to tip, or only if there's a happy ending? Least they could do is provide a well-ventilated room for a post-encounter cigarette.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was most likely the first victim of Nazi censorship. On February 1, 1933, just a couple of days after Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor of the German Republic… Two days after Hitler was installed as Chancellor, Bonhoeffer delivered a radio address attacking Hitler, in which he warned Germany against slipping into an idolatrous cult of the Führer (leader), who could very well turn out to be Verführer (mis-leader, or seducer)." In a radio address titled "The Younger Generation's Altered view of the Concept of the Führer," Bonhoeffer warned that if a leader surrenders to the wishes of his followers, "then the image of the Leader (Führer) will gradually become the image of the misleader (Verführer.)"
"Human persons ~ especially young people ~ will have the need to appoint a Führer to lead them until they feel themselves sufficiently mature, strong, and responsible to fulfill in their own persons he claim that they make of this authority. The führer must be responsibly aware of this clear limit to his own authority. If he understands his function otherwise than in keeping with the nature of the matter, he will fail to inform clearly those who he leads about the limitation of his task and about the responsibility which is genuinely incumbent upon this task. Those who he leads will always want him to embody their idol. But if he lets himself be carried away by the people, and accepts this expectation, the image of the Führer will slip over into the image of the seducer "Verführer." -- excerpt from Bonhoeffer's radio broadcast, February 1, 1933; source: Google Books: 'Dietrich Bonhoeffer: a life in pictures' by Renate Bethge, Christian Gremmels
The German Lutheran pastor, theologian, and martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer was one of the first, and strongest, voices of resistance to Adolf Hitler. An acclaimed preacher, pacifist and author, Bonhoeffer came to the famed Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem on a teaching fellowship. When Bonhoeffer returned to Germany in 1932 he had a new awareness of racial prejudice and challenged Christian churches to stand with the Jews in their moment of need.
Bonhoeffer eventually joined the unsuccessful plots to assassinate Hitler and was executed three weeks before the end of the war. The Nazi regime executed Bonhoeffer by hanging him on April 9, 1945, just three weeks before Berlin fell. He is commemorated as a martyr by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Church of England and the Church in Wales. A comment quote: "God bless Bonhoeffer for his bravery. He did what all Christians should have done-resisted the idolatry and evils of the third reich. Let this be a lesson for all of us."

Second, it can aid the victims of the state action. The church has the unconditional obligation to the victims of any ordering society even if they do not belong to the Christian society. The third possibility is not just [to] bandage the victims under the wheel, but to jam a spoke in the wheel itself."; source: http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/bonhoeffer/particulars.shtml

"You may not agree that what is 'creeping and crawling' into our society in the guise of 'gun-control means crime-control', or that Orwellian like 'Big Brother' intrusions into the sanctity of our homes and family, and 'cradle-to-grave' neo-socialism indicate that our country is in decline. .. In the past, many so-called fallen 'great civilizations' were tied together with a common thread of idyllic 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness' goals which somehow reversed in importance leading to failed national mores predictably spiraling them rapidly downward into nothing more than footnotes on old, musty and oft' forgotten pages of revised history." -- rfh ( http://773.harrold.org )
P.S.
Below the posts here on my blog and at http://harrold.org/rfhextra/contact_the_US_government.html is a list of phone and fax numbers to the Senate, House of Representatives, the White House, Federal Agencies, and to the '4th Estate', the Media. It's easy, take just a few minutes and let the government know your position on losing your 1st and 4th Amendment Rights as the result of this "crisis" mis-management.
The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution is the part of the Bill of Rights which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. The amendment specifically also requires search and arrest warrants be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause. It was adopted as a response to the abuse of the writ of assistance, which is a type of general search warrant, in the American Revolution. Search and arrest should be limited in scope according to specific information supplied to the issuing court, usually by a law enforcement officer, who has sworn by it.
In Mapp v. Ohio, 367 U.S. 643 (1961), the Supreme Court ruled that the Fourth Amendment applies to the states by way of the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Supreme Court has also ruled that certain searches and seizures violated the Fourth Amendment even when a warrant was properly granted.
Now the U.S. Owes $175+ Trillion Dollars! (25Sep17) Up daily since o'tax'n spend was elected!
"The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."
Click Here for videos, graphs, movie & U.S. National Debt totals.
3 years ago: The Debt ~ $125T+! Then Obama: Up $22T+ in only 3 years! $22T to $26T+ by 2015! Since November 2011 to January 2013 he has added $2 Trillion to the deficit! States' Unfunded: $3.2T+! (Dec10) From Jan'09 the deficit: $10.2T→$14.6T up $4.3T/42%! -- Federal unfunded liabilities total $84 trillion .. equal to 5.7 percent of the present value of all future GDP, which translates into about 31 percent of the long run federal revenue estimate,” the report states. “Thus federal revenues would have to rise immediately and permanently to 24.1 percent of GDP to cover the fiscal imbalance.” (source: http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/16/report-federal-unfunded-liabilities-total-84-trillion/)
Many Americans actually pay $1 out of ever $2 earned to some form of tax while ~50% of people pay no taxes! Do you pay your bills? The Fed takes $3 in and spends $5. Debt per citizen: $51,985 - Debt per taxpayer: $142,513! (13Dec12)
A trillion seconds pass in 31,688 years. At $1/sec it would take 41,194 years just to pay off o'tax'n spend's new Feb12-Feb13 added debt - 538,696 years to pay only the national debt or 4,404,632 years to settle the debt+unfunded liabilities!
"Over the last four years our national debt has risen nearly $6 trillion, and just last week the debt topped an astounding $16 trillion. To put that in perspective, $16 trillion is enough money to fund the US military, along with the military of every NATO country combined… for the next sixteen years! Government spending is projected to hit $3.8 trillion this year alone. Even after every tax dollar paid by Americans has been counted, the government will still overspend by another $1.13 trillion. Every single second of the day our government spends over $12,000. So in the time it takes you to read this article, roughly five minutes, our government has spent $3.6 million. It take four seconds for the government to spend what the average American earns in an entire year." (source: by Tim Phillips 17Sep12 at TownHall.com)

The U.S. Deficit in 2007 was $9,007,653,372,262.48
The federal government has accumulated more new debt -- $3.22 trillion ($3,220,103,625,307.29) — during the tenure of the 111th Congress than it did during the first 100 Congresses combined, according to official debt figures published by the U.S. Treasury."

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good." -- George Washington |

Nor are they one of the 'Three Stooges' but rather are shrewd implementation/drivers and fellow-travelers of policies designed to disarm the citizenry & collapse the American economy. Why? o'nocchio's grandiose scheme to "fundamentally transform America" is more than simple campaign rhetoric as can be seen by his use of "enabling acts" to circumvent the Constitution of the United States. As Ollie used to say, "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into." |

"As a nation we have been asleep for years. Lulled by affluence and self-indulgent apathy, our collective awareness has grown dim. This has created an opening for our enemies, one that may ultimately prove fatal. This is the truth and what we do, or don't do, will determine the consequences, for better or worse. It is time to decide." -- truthandcons.blogspot.com
