o'cap'n tax - Drill? o'no! Remember in '12

Somethings rotten in Denmark! -- rfh
From:
chuck drude Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2011 Subject: DRILL FOR OIL?
*YOU HAD BETTER BE SITTING DOWN WHEN YOU READ THIS* . . .
As you may know, Cruz Construction started a division in North Dakota just 6 months ago. They sent every Kenworth (9 trucks) we had Here in Alaska to North Dakota and several drivers.
They just bought two new Kenworth's to add to that fleet; one being a TriDrive tractor and a new 65 ton lowboy to go with it. They also bought two new cranes (one crawler & one rubber tired) for that Division.
Dave Cruz said they have moved more rigs in the last 6 months in N.D. than Cruz Construction Moved in Alaska in the last 6 years. Williston Is like a gold rush town; they moved one of our 40 man camps down there since there are no rooms available. Unemployment in N.D. is the lowest in the nation at 3.4 percent last I checked.
See anything in the national news about how The oil industry is fueling North Dakota's economy?
Here's an astonishing read. Important and Verifiable information:  About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest.  The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U. S. have in the ground?"  Forbes did not Miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together."
The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big.  It was a revised report (which hadn't been updated since 1995) on how Much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and Extreme eastern Montana.
Check this out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign Oil.  The Energy Information Administration (EIA) Estimates it at 503 billion barrels.  Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable(5 billion barrels), at $107 a Barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.
"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor.  They had no idea . . ." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.  "This sizable find Is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette.  It's a formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.'  It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada.  For years, U.S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end . . .
Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago.  However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves, and we now have access of up to 500 Billion barrels.
And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL !!!!!!
That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.  And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006 !!!!!!
U.S. Oil Discovery - Largest Reserve in the World Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006
Hidden 1,000 feet Beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve In the world.  It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels.
On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction.  In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted.  With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?
They reported this stunning news: We have
more Oil inside our borders, than all the other proven Reserves on earth.
Here are the official estimates:
8 times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
18 times as much oil as Iraq
21 times as much oil as Kuwait
22 times as much oil as Iran
500 times as much oil as Yemen
And it's all right here in the Western United States !!!!!!
HOW can this BE?  HOW can we NOT BE extracting this?  Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil!   Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy. WHY?
James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East, more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped.
That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil In the world today, reports The Denver Post.
Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price Even with this find?
     Think again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, It has to.  Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?  Got your attention yet?
Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:  Pass this along.  If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices, by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.
Now I just wonder what would happen in this Country if every one of you sent this to every One in your address book.

3 to 4.3 Billion Barrels of Technically Recoverable Oil Assessed in North Dakota and Montana's Bakken Formation —25 Times More Than 1995 Estimate—
USGS, Reston, VA - North Dakota and Montana have an estimated 3.0 to 4.3 billion barrels of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil in an area known as the Bakken Formation.
A U.S. Geological Survey assessment, released April 10, shows a 25-fold increase in the amount of oil that can be recovered compared to the agency's 1995 estimate of 151 million barrels of oil.

3 to 4.3 Billion Barrels of Oil in North Dakota and Montana
Technically recoverable oil resources are those producible using currently available technology and industry practices. USGS is the only provider of publicly available estimates of undiscovered technically recoverable oil and gas resources.
New geologic models applied to the Bakken Formation, advances in drilling and production technologies, and recent oil discoveries have resulted in these substantially larger technically recoverable oil volumes. About 105 million barrels of oil were produced from the Bakken Formation by the end of 2007.
The USGS Bakken study was undertaken as part of a nationwide project assessing domestic petroleum basins using standardized methodology and protocol as required by the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 2000.
The Bakken Formation estimate is larger than all other current USGS oil assessments of the lower 48 states and is the largest "continuous" oil accumulation ever assessed by the USGS. A "continuous" oil accumulation means that the oil resource is dispersed throughout a geologic formation rather than existing as discrete, localized occurrences. The next largest "continuous" oil accumulation in the U.S. is in the Austin Chalk of Texas and Louisiana, with an undiscovered estimate of 1.0 billions of barrels of technically recoverable oil.
"It is clear that the Bakken formation contains a significant amount of oil - the question is how much of that oil is recoverable using today's technology?" said Senator Byron Dorgan, of North Dakota. "To get an answer to this important question, I requested that the U.S. Geological Survey complete this study, which will provide an up-to-date estimate on the amount of technically recoverable oil resources in the Bakken Shale formation."
The USGS estimate of 3.0 to 4.3 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil has a mean value of 3.65 billion barrels. Scientists conducted detailed studies in stratigraphy and structural geology and the modeling of petroleum geochemistry. They also combined their findings with historical exploration and production analyses to determine the undiscovered, technically recoverable oil estimates.
USGS worked with the North Dakota Geological Survey, a number of petroleum industry companies and independents, universities and other experts to develop a geological understanding of the Bakken Formation. These groups provided critical information and feedback on geological and engineering concepts important to building the geologic and production models used in the assessment.
Five continuous assessment units (AU) were identified and assessed in the Bakken Formation of North Dakota and Montana - the Elm Coulee-Billings Nose AU, the Central Basin-Poplar Dome AU, the Nesson-Little Knife Structural AU, the Eastern Expulsion Threshold AU, and the Northwest Expulsion Threshold AU.
At the time of the assessment, a limited number of wells have produced oil from three of the assessments units in Central Basin-Poplar Dome, Eastern Expulsion Threshold, and Northwest Expulsion Threshold.
The Elm Coulee oil field in Montana, discovered in 2000, has produced about 65 million barrels of the 105 million barrels of oil recovered from the Bakken Formation.
Results of the assessment can be found at http://energy.usgs.gov.

2012 - What Cuts? (Ron Paul, 25Nov11)

From: Ron Paul  Sent: Friday, November 25, 2011 Subject: What Cuts?

If you missed Tuesday night's debate on CNN, there's something you need to know.  All seven of my opponents stood up on stage and applauded Big Government - asked for more of it, in fact.
    So your choice is clear.
With just over five weeks left until voters begin going to the polls, if you want a President who will FIGHT for less government and lower spending, then I must ask for your support right away.
You see, Newt Gingrich - who previously warned of the dangers of the Patriot Act - now wants it expanded.  He wants amnesty, too - to keep American citizens footing the bill for government services for illegal immigrants.
The others were falling all over themselves to launch more undeclared TRILLION-dollar wars on Iran, or perhaps Pakistan, or maybe even Syria.  Of course, they all want more military spending, even though we're already spending almost one TRILLION dollars per year - an amount nearly equal to what the entire rest of the world spends!
But that certainly hasn't stopped the chicken-little stories from my opponents about supposed 'defense cuts'!  Even Mitt Romney tried to pull the wool over our eyes.  I set him straight.  NOTHING is being cut in Washington.  PERIOD.  Believe me, I've tried!  All Congress is arguing about is how much to increase spending.
But when hundreds of billions of dollars just aren't enough for my opponents' favorite agencies, their answer is to howl in pain.  Isn't this the game the liberals play?  I guess we've learned to expect as much over the years from them.  But isn't it downright disgusting when Republican candidates for President stoop to that level?
After all, we're over $15 TRILLION in debt.   When are my opponents going to get serious?
Unfortunately, that's exactly what's lacking in these debates so far - seriousness.
And that's why the establishment of BOTH parties is so scared of me.  You see, they know I am serious about balancing the budget in three years.  They know I will cut ONE TRILLION in spending my first year.  And they know NONE of their sacred cows are safe.
If we don't need it or can't afford it, it doesn't matter what department of government we're talking about.  Sure, the establishment will scream and holler that we need MORE money to keep our country safe. But the simple fact is, if we had a constitutional foreign policy - and if we stopped nation-building and policing the world - our nation would be much safer and spend much LESS money at the same time.  Our troops understand that fact.  That's why I've received more money from members of the military than all of my Republican opponents COMBINED.
But sadly, my establishment opponents just don't seem to get it.  They want more spending, more government, and more debt. You and I both know we can't afford politics as usual any longer. You and I both know maintaining the big spending, Big Government status quo will only lead to our nation's ruin.
But I'm the ONE candidate who is serious about fixing our problems.
I'm the ONE candidate who will change our foreign policy to strengthen our national defense while ending these wars.
I'm the ONE candidate who will fight to end welfare to illegal immigrants AND secure our border.
And I'm the ONE candidate who will take power BACK from government, not scream to give more to it.
But I must be able to count on your generous financial support if I'm going to win the Republican nomination.  My campaign is in crunch time right now.
As I mentioned, it's just over five weeks until voters start going to the caucuses and polls to begin selecting the next Republican nominee for President.
In these final weeks, my campaign is launching an all-out voter contact blitz with TV ads, direct mail, and boots on the ground in both Iowa and New Hampshire.  With polls showing me statistically tied for first in Iowa and clearly in second in New Hampshire, you and I must make our big push right now.
So please make your most generous contribution TODAY to my campaign.
Whatever you can give, I'll put to IMMEDIATE use getting my message of liberty to the voters.
We're so close.  I believe the time is right, and you and I have the message to win.
So please make your most generous contribution TODAY!
Together, we can Restore America Now!
For Liberty, Ron Paul
P.S. Every one of my opponents during Tuesday night's debate was demanding more government.  Some are even falsely claiming military spending is being cut!  But the only thing being debated in Washington, D.C. right now is how fast spending will increase!  I'm the only candidate in this race who is serious about cutting spending.  And if we don't need it or can't afford it, it doesn't matter what department it's in.  But with just over five weeks left until voters begin going to the polls, I must be able to count on your financial support if I'm going to win the Republican nomination for President.  So please contribute whatever you are able TODAY!  Paid for by Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee www.ronpaul2012.com

The First Thanksgiving - The Joy

From: Off The Grid News Sent: Thursday, November 24, 2011 Subject: The Joy Of Thanksgiving
"our harvest being gotten in, our governour sent foure men on fowling, that so we might after a speciall manner rejoyce together, after we had gathered the fruits of our labours ; they foure in one day killed as much fowle, as with a little helpe beside, served the Company almost a weeke, at which time amongst other Recreations, we exercised our Armes, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and amongst the rest their greatest king Massasoyt, with some ninetie men, whom for three dayes we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five Deere, which they brought to the Plantation and bestowed on our Governour, and upon the Captaine and others. And although it be not always so plentifull, as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so farre from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plentie."  – Edward Winslow, Mort’s Relation (1622)  [sourcehttp://www.pilgrimhall.org/1stthnks.htmPilgrim Hall Museum, 75 Court Street, Plymouth, MA 02360]

The Joy Of Thanksgiving
Origin: A post by billydie in Inspiration at WordPress.com on Friday, 25 November 2011
The First Thanksgiving
We do know some things about the first Thanksgiving.  But William Bradford, Plymouth's perennial governor, and his assistant, Edward Winslow, are the only contemporary writers who mention it.  They described the celebration briefly.  The occasion was a successful harvest after months of extreme hardship and deprivation.  The Mayflower survivors invited the Indian king Massasoit to their celebration, and he came with ninety-some of his men.  The Pilgrims provided waterfowl and turkey; the Indians added five deer.  There were games and athletic contests (William Brewster would probably watch the Lions-Packers game if he were alive today!), and even a joint militia drill.  The celebration lasted three days.  But neither Bradford nor Winslow actually called the feast "Thanksgiving," and neither mentioned prayers of thanks or any kind of worship service.  This has given occasion for some historians to question whether this "first Thanksgiving" was a religious celebration at all.  But that's because they don't know the Pilgrims and what they really believed.
Grace and Thankfulness
The Pilgrims were children of the Reformation.  Like the 16th century Reformers, they were fully committed to the biblical doctrine of justification by faith.  They understood that God graciously declares guilty sinners righteous on the basis of Christ's perfect obedience and substitutionary death, that this gift of legally transferred righteousness is received by faith alone and that such faith is itself the gift of a sovereign God. But they also knew that grace doesn't end there.  They, no less than the Reformers, had faced the obvious questions: "Why then should believers do good works?  Doesn't the doctrine of justification by faith lead to antinomianism and lawlessness?"
The Pilgrim answer, and the answer of Scripture, involves the nature of saving faith and the work of the Spirit who grants it.  In bringing us sinners to faith, the Holy Spirit changes our hearts.  He implants joy and a spirit of thankfulness.  He gives the converted sinner a delight in serving God.  And this thankfulness then, becomes itself a great comfort.
Comfort and Joy
The Heidelberg Catechism (1563) is one the oldest Reformed confessions and one the Pilgrims ran into when in Holland.  (John Robinson even participated in the theological debates at the University in Leiden.)  The questions and answers of the Heidelberg Catechism were framed in terms of comfort and joy, which no doubt shaped Pilgrim thought.  In fact, its first question is, "What is thy only comfort in life and in death?"   The answer is this:
That I, with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ, who, with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must work together for my salvation.  Wherefore, by his Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready henceforth to live unto him.
The Catechism's second question introduces the issue of happiness:  What must we know to live and die happily in this comfort?  The answer is threefold and for the Pilgrims, a constant reminder:  1) we must know the greatness of our sin and misery; 2) we must know the means of our redemption; and 3) we must know the proper way to be thankful to God.  In other words, in order to "live and die happily," we must not only know how to be saved, but we must also know how to be "thankful to God" for our salvation.  The Pilgrims believed happiness grows and is completed in thankfulness.  Thankfulness enables the forgiven sinner to enjoy the comfort of the gospel happily, that is, with true joy.
Why Thanksgiving?
But a question arises.  Is God being selfish in wanting a thankful people?  Not at all. First, as the Source of all life, joy, and blessedness, He knows Himself to be our highest good.  Second, He knows that we can't fully enjoy Him or His gifts apart from true thankfulness.  After all, this is the very nature of joy.  When we enjoy a thing, we are thankful for it.  We praise the gift to the giver and so enjoy both.
"Thank you for this ring!  It's magnificent!"
"What a fantastic dinner!  It was the best ever. Thank you."
"Thank you!  Thank you so much!  I never thought I'd see Wittenberg."
When we find joy in another human being, we show our joy and gratitude with words and actions.  We praise and magnify the one we love.  We are thankful to love and to be loved.
"I'm proud of you, son.  You're the best."
"I thank God for you every day.  My life wouldn't be the same without you."
"There's no one else like you!  I love you so much!"
Joy finds its fulfillment in thankfulness, in praise and thanksgiving.  Silent joy is a contradiction.  Mute appreciation isn't really thanks.  God requires our thanksgiving so that our joy may be full.
The Joy of the Lord
It seems odd that when theologians list the attributes of God, they rarely include joy.  A few speak of His "blessedness."   But joy isn't one we use much.  An older writer, William Wisheart (1716), defined God's blessedness as that attribute, whereby "having all fullness of perfection and sufficiency in himself, he doth most perfectly and unchangeably enjoy himself."  God is wholly blessed in that He fully understands, loves, and delights in His own infinite perfections.  For He is absolute life, perfectly good, and wholly glorious.  There is nothing we can add to His joy.  There is nothing we can give Him that He has not first given us.  And so He does not thank us.  But He does rejoice over us.  He rejoices over His covenant people (Zeph. 3:17).  He rejoices in the works of His hands (Ps. 104:31).
This divine joy is especially Trinitarian.  The Father loves and delights in His Son (Matt. 17:5). He honors and glorifies Him (John 17:5).  The Son rejoices in His Father (Prov. 8:30-31).  He seeks His honor, rather than His own (John 17:4).  The Spirit brings glory to the Son and not to Himself (John 16:14).  From eternity, God is overflowing joy and delight.  Furthermore, Jesus in His humanity regularly gave thanks to His Father.  He did so before every meal (John 6:11).  He gave thanks when He sang songs of praise, whether in the synagogue or in private worship (Mark 14:26).  And on more than one occasion, He stopped in the middle of a public conversation or discourse and said, "I thank thee, O Father..." (Matt. 11:25; John 11:41).  The joy of the Triune God overflows in the thankfulness of the divine Messiah.  It overflows in the praises of all those who call themselves Christians.
Conclusion
The Pilgrims, Puritans, and Reformers are almost always portrayed as obsessive killjoys and miserable downers.  There's little truth in that image.  Joy wasn't an afterthought for our Pilgrim forefathers.  For them, joy stood at the beginning, in the center, and at the end.  For them, God was joy, even when they were hungry and that same joy expressed itself in thankfulness.  For the Pilgrims, a day of rejoicing is necessarily a day of thanksgiving.  And throughout Scripture that sort of rejoicing means feasting, fellowship, and worship.  The Pilgrims were deeply committed Christians who had braved an ocean and a wilderness to seek and serve God.  When they rejoiced together, it would not--could not--be other than a time of thanksgiving to their Lord and Savior.  Yes, the Pilgrims gave thanks to God and so should all of us.
At Off-The-Grid-News and Solutions From Science we are extremely thankful to God for what we have, the legacy of our Pilgrim forefathers and especially for you, our dear readers and customers.  May God bless you richly today on Thanksgiving as you celebrate in joy what you have been so graciously given.

PC security - 10 Cyber Monday Threats

From: editorialnewsletters Sent: Monday, November 21, 2011
Top 10 Cyber Monday Threats By Stefanie Hoffman, CRN, Wed. Nov. 25, 2009
Ignoring Red Flags
As the holiday season ramps up, time-strapped users will inevitably be less discriminating about where they go to shop for the hottest holiday gifts. In fact, attackers are banking on the fact that holiday shoppers will be so rushed they will ignore obvious red flags -- like the absence of a padlock icon on a Web page -- in an effort to get affordable prices or a scarce holiday item.
Tip: First, look for that little padlock icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to verify the site is secure in order to send credit card and password information. Also, check to see if the site or URL is from an established merchant, or better yet, go directly to a trusted site -- even if it means you have to pay a little more or wait a little longer. Often attackers will change the URL of a familiar site with by altering or adding one letter (e.g. ebays.com) in hopes that potential victims won't notice.
Failing To Check Bank/Credit Card Statements
Of the many things that holiday shoppers have to do, scrutinizing financial statements might not be high on the list. With the multitude of added tasks piled on top of users during the holiday rush, many shoppers will gloss over credit card statements or ignore them altogether.
Don't. Rather than taking a big chunk all at once, cyber attackers will often siphon off money in little bits, hoping that a few missing dollars here and there will go unnoticed. Or they will make a "test purchase" to see if an account is legitimate, before going for the kill down the road.
Tip: Carefully scan bank and credit card statements every day and account for any unknown purchases and alert credit card companies and banks immediately to suspicious or unknown activity.
Social Networking Threats
Now more than ever, attackers know that they can entice users via malicious links with offers of holiday sales and hot holiday gifts through social networking sites. In addition to e-mail and IM, attackers are spamming holiday offers with embedded links via social networking sites, such as Facebook, knowing that users are more likely to click on a link that they believe comes from a trusted source. And during the holidays social networking users will likely receive a barrage of messages from 'friends" inviting them to view pictures, receive special holiday offers or play games. In reality, cyber attackers often hijack users' passwords and social networking accounts so they can launch malicious attacks. And those users who click on an embedded link, stream a video or download a game will likely also download malware onto their systems designed to steal information or incorporate their computers in a malicious spam-spewing botnet.
Tip: Be wary of links contained in e-mail or social networking messages, even if you think they come from someone you know. And if it doesn't come from someone you know, delete them. Researchers at AVG advise users to apply an URL scanning tool to detect infected links or otherwise legitimate Web sites that may have become compromised.
Inadequate Antivirus
Many attacks could be prevented if users kept up-to-date antivirus/antispyware/antimalware. However, all too often this simple preventative technique takes a backseat to other holiday tasks. Subsequently, attackers that distribute malware will have the most success from users with inadequate security software or none at all.
Tip: Make sure that your security software stays current. Current antivirus/antispyware likely contains protections against the latest holiday threats, which means if users are updated, they are one step ahead of the attackers.
(Not So) Cute And Fuzzy E-Cards
One of the hallmarks of the holidays for users, so to speak, is that they tend to do things that they normally wouldn't otherwise do -- like blindly clicking on attachments. It may be tempting to click on that cute holiday e-card, even if you're not entirely sure about the sender. They're sweet. They're touching. However, many holiday greeting cards are scams that contain malware that installs information-stealing code or keyloggers onto your computer.
Other similar scams include holiday-themed videos, photos or other attachments, which also often appear to come from someone the user knows.
Tip: If you receive an e-card from a friend, take the time to contact them by some other means to confirm they indeed sent it. If the sender is someone you don't recognize, delete the message. And consider sharing photos through some legitimate photo sharing site, such as Flikr.
One Password, One Big Problem
In an effort to save time and reduce stress, shoppers often use the same password for multiple accounts--especially during the busy holiday season--when harried users are required to come up with creative passwords and usernames for sites such as Amazon or eBay. While it might be simpler to have a one-size-fits-all password for multiple accounts, it is also tantamount to an invitation for malicious attackers.
"What we're basically saying is that, 'I own lots of houses and have the same key for all of them. We would never do that in real life but we do it online all the time," said Andy Klein, product manager for SonicWall. Passwords and login credentials for non-financial accounts, such as Facebook, Twitter and e-mail, represent the key to obtaining address books for spam attacks. Meanwhile, hackers will have access to other accounts, such as bank and PayPal, accessed by the same login credentials.
Tip: Have a separate password for different accounts, and don't share them with anyone -- that includes e-mailing, IMing or tweeting them.
Searching In The Dark
What's the first thing users do when looking for the newest hottest toy or Nintendo game? Of course they turn to Google to refer them to the top Web sites. That might not be such a good idea, experts say. Attackers are staying one step ahead of the shoppers this season by utilizing search optimization tools to put their sites at the top of Google's rankings. Meanwhile, Google doesn't screen pages for malware, which means that even malicious sites can make it to the top of Google's search pages if they meet the right criteria. Consequently, search engine scams -- dangerous links impersonating legitimate search results -- will be more prevalent this season as more shoppers turn to the Internet for the bulk of their holiday shopping.
Researchers at F-Secure determined that some of the hottest search terms will also be hot targets for cyber criminals, including Michael Jackson's "This Is It" film, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 video game, The Flip UltraHD Camcorder, Apple's iPod, Nintendo's Wii, and Playskool's Chuck My Talking Truck.
"When going shopping, you're better off searching for the stuff you want to buy from the merchants, instead of using just Google," said Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer for F-Secure.
Tip: Lay off Google for a while and go directly to the shopping sites for holiday gifts.
Drive-By Savings
The holidays are famous for making users do things they wouldn't normally do -- that includes visiting sites they wouldn't normally visit -- in an effort to find the best holiday deals. Some of the Web sites ask users to disable pop-up blockers. The result? A pop-up that offers users additional savings with one little caveat -- provide an e-mail address. While users could potentially find discounts and deals, they will almost inevitably be opening a floodgates for spam.
Tip: Legitimate Web sites don't need pop-ups. If a site prompts you to disable pop-up blocker, take heed and exit the site.
Package Delivery Notices
Among the many holiday scams out there, package delivery fraud and declined credit card payment top the list. This type of phishing attack takes the form of a friendly notice from a package delivery service, and includes a few lines that indicate to the user that the package was unable to be delivered, saying, "We tried to deliver your package, but were unable to reach you. Please click here to reschedule your delivery." Or "Open the attached document to see the problem." Users, especially those worried about packages arriving before the holidays, will be more inclined to click on embedded links, which almost inevitably will download malware onto their system.
"Security is something you'll gladly surrender if you're trying to get something shipped by a deadline," said SonicWall's Klein. "You'd give blood if you had to."
Tip: Ignore any e-mail notice that purports to come from a delivery service. Packages come with a tracking number. Instead of clicking on the link, go directly to the Web site of the delivery service and track down the package yourself.
Holiday Themed Videos
Attackers are notorious for using the holidays as a hook to entice users to download malware disguised as benign Christmas-themed videos. Many users will automatically accept the invitation and click on embedded links, especially if they appear to be from a friend. However, there's a good chance that the link to the "Santa Gets Stuck In A Chimney" video is really an attacker impersonating a contact with a hijacked Facebook account.
Tip: Double and triple check the source of the video to ensure that it comes from a legitimate movie site such a youtube.com, or hulu.com, while remembering that many malicious sites only change one letter of an established URL in hopes that the recipient fails to notice. (e.g. yuotube.com). If the link is sent from a familiar source, try to find the video directly from the Web site.
If the video comes from an unfamiliar source, or otherwise seems suspicious, play it safe and delete it.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are online. (Israel Museum, Google) (video 2m10s)

The Dead Sea Scrolls are online at: http://dss.collections.imj.org.il

You can browse the Great Isaiah Scroll, the most well known scroll and the one that can be found in most home bibles, by chapter and verse.  You can also click directly on the Hebrew text and get an English translation.   The scroll text is also discoverable via web search.  If you search for phrases from the scrolls, a link to that text within the scroll viewers on the Dead Sea Scrolls collections site may surface in your search results.  For example, search for [Dead Sea Scrolls "In the day of thy planting thou didst make it to grow"], and you may see a link to Chapter 17:Verse 11 within the Great Isaiah Scroll.

Triumph of the Will (German: Triumph des Willens) by Leni Riefenstahl, 1934
video source: http://www.archive.org/details/TriumphOfTheWillgermanTriumphDesWillens
"Triumph of the Will (German: Triumph des Willens) is a propaganda film made by Leni Riefenstahl. It chronicles the 1934 Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg. The film contains excerpts from speeches given by various Nazi leaders at the Congress, including portions of speeches by Adolf Hitler, interspersed with footage of massed party members. Hitler commissioned the film and served as an unofficial executive producer; his name appears in the opening titles. The overriding theme of the film is the return of Germany as a great power, with Hitler as the True German Leader who will bring glory to the nation." - (Archive.org)
The Obama Deception. A documentary film by Alex Jones, 2009.

"The Obama Deception is a hard-hitting film that completely destroys the myth that Barack Obama is working for the best interests of the American people. The Obama phenomenon is a hoax carefully crafted by the captains of the New World Order." - (Archive.org)

Genie's 3 Wishes: Canadian, Arab, American

From: drude Sent: Tuesday, November 22, 2011 Subject: Genie (you're going to love this!)
Three men -
A Canadian farmer, An Arab terrorist, And an American Biker Are all walking together one day.  They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it.  'I will give each of you one wish, which is three wishes in total', says the Genie..
The Canadian says, 'I am a farmer and my son will also farm.  I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada '
...  POOF!   With the blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever fertile for farming.
The Arab terrorist was amazed, so he said, 'I want a wall around Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran so that no infidels, Americans or Canadians can come into our precious land.'
...  POOF!   Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries.
The Biker says, 'I am very curious.  Please tell me more about this wall.'
The Genie explains, 'Well, it's about 5,000 feet high, 500 feet thick and completely surrounds the country.  Nothing can get in or out; it's virtually impenetrable.'
...  The Biker sits down on his Harley, Cracks a beer, Lights a cigar, Smiles and says, 'Fill it with water.'

What were you doing in the last hour while the U.S. Gov't spent $188 Million Dollars of our money!  (Every Hour, Every Day!) (Apr11)   In 8 years, President Bush added $5 trillion to the national debt; President Obama, according to a revised Dec11 GAO report, added $4T+ to the U.S. deficit in 2011 alone!  The GAO estimates the deficit, including o'scamcare & mandates, may grow from $15T+ to over $26T+!  UPDATE: A little-noticed event occurred at approximately midnight on Monday, October 31, 2011.  The National Debt exceeded the GDP!  Imagine what these numbers are going to be now that Obama is reelected! A trillion seconds pass in 31,688 years.  At $1/sec it would take 41,194 years just to pay off o'tax'n spend's new Feb12-Feb13 added debt - 538,696 years to pay only the national debt or 4,404,632 years to settle the debt+unfunded liabilities!

"Over the last four years our national debt has risen nearly $6 trillion, and just last week the debt topped an astounding $16 trillion.  To put that in perspective, $16 trillion is enough money to fund the US military, along with the military of every NATO country combined… for the next sixteen years!  Government spending is projected to hit $3.8 trillion this year alone.  Even after every tax dollar paid by Americans has been counted, the government will still overspend by another $1.13 trillion.  Every single second of the day our government spends over $12,000.  So in the time it takes you to read this article, roughly five minutes, our government has spent $3.6 million.  It take four seconds for the government to spend what the average American earns in an entire year."  (source: by Tim Phillips 17Sep12 at TownHall.com)
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself.  They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference – they deserve a place of honor with all that is good." -- George Washington

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11
It has been suggested that o'who?, the clown, and 'those who surround him' are not the bumbling fools they appear to be.  Nor are they one of the 'Three Stooges' but rather are shrewd implementation/drivers and fellow-travelers of policies designed to disarm the citizenry & collapse the American economy.  Why?  o'nocchio's grandiose scheme to "fundamentally transform America" is more than simple campaign rhetoric as can be seen by his use of "enabling acts" to circumvent the Constitution of the United States.  As Ollie used to say, "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into."
