Dutch Doctors Say the Unborn may Have Memories by the 30th Week of Pregnancy

Like any  prospective mom, as 21-year-old Angela Morton goes through her first pregnancy the family stories of her own baby years begin to emerge -- including her mother's trick of calming her with Aerosmith's 1988 song "Angel" anytime she was a fussing as an infant.

New research shows a fetus can remember things for up to four weeks.

"That was the song for me I guess," said Morton. "But I've never even heard it since I was a baby."

Morton's mother may have discovered a secret infant-soothing property in Steven Tyler's rock ballads.  Or, more likely, she was was playing on an aspect of fetal memory outlined by researchers in Tuesday's issue of the journal Child Development.

In a study of 100 of pregnant women in the Netherlands, researchers say they found evidence that fetuses have short-term memory of sounds by the 30th week of pregnancy, and develop a long-term memory of sound after that.

The researchers documented the memory by watching fetal movements with ultrasound while they played "vibroacoustic" sound to the growing baby.  Five of the fetuses in the study did not move in reaction to the sound and were eliminated from the study.

But among the fetuses who did move, researchers repeated the sound until the fetus "habituated" to it and no longer reacted.  Doctors let some time pass and then tested the memory of the fetus by playing the sound in intervals to see if the fetus "remembered" or recognized the sound and did not react.

The study found that by 30 weeks of age, a fetus could "remember" a sound for 10 minutes.  By the 34th week a fetus may be able to "remember" the sound for four weeks.

Morton thought that same sort of memory could have been why she was calmed by Steven Tyler as an infant.

"She [Morton's mother] used to go play it when she pregnant and sing along… then when I was fussy as a baby she used to play it and I calmed down," she said.

Right now Morton mostly plays Christian rock and The Beatles for her baby boy Christian, who is due in November.   She says she's thinking about expanding the music collection for her baby in case there is more to this research.

Planned Parenthood Teams Up With Occupy Wall St. Movement      Yesterday Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, joined a coalition of left-wing groups in Florida to protest pro-life Republican Governor Rick Scott and to show support for the larger Occupy Wall Street movement taking place nationwide.

      Awake the State, which organized the rally, was accompanied by Planned Parenthood and Occupy Orlando at Senator Beth Johnson Park to stand “in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street and the larger Occupy movement against corporate greed and control over government.”

      In an email to supporters Planned Parenthood noted they strongly opposed 18 pro-life bills that have been filed since Gov. Scott took office in January. Planned Parenthood accused pro-life Florida lawmakers of “playing politics with women’s health by introducing legislation that allows government bureaucrats to interfere with decisions that should be made by a woman in conjunction with her doctor, her family and her faith.”

      Some of the measures signed into law by Gov. Scott include allowing a woman the opportunity to view an ultrasound prior to an abortion, strengthening Florida’s parental notification law and prohibiting taxpayer funding of abortion in the healthcare exchanges established by Obamacare.

      The Occupy Wall Street movement has become the subject of public skepticism after numerous well-documented cases of anti-Semitism, sexual assault, drug abuse, public masturbation, public defecation, vandalism and violence.  Among the movement’s supporters and sponsors are the Communist Party USA, the American Nazi Party, Socialist Party USA, Industrial Workers of the World, International Bolshevik Tendency, Marxist Student Union, 9/11 Truth groups and more.  http://www.lifenews.com/2011/11/02/planned-parenthood-teams-up-with-occupy-wall-st-movement/

Congress Told Obamacare Violates Pro-Life Conscience Rights
      Members of Congress heard from panelists today in a hearing who told them that the insurance mandate the Obama administration is likely to add to the Obamacare health care reform law will violate conscience rights of pro-life advocates.

      The Obama administration has initially approved a recommendation from the Institute of Medicine suggesting that it force insurance companies to pay for birth control and drugs that can cause abortions under the Obamacare government-run health care program.

      The IOM recommendation, opposed by pro-life groups, called for the Obama administration to require insurance programs to include birth control — such as the morning after pill or the ella drug that causes an abortion days after conception — in the section of drugs and services insurance plans must cover under “preventative care.” The companies will likely pass the added costs on to consumers, requiring them to pay for birth control and, in some instances, drug-induced abortions of unborn children in their earliest days.

      The Health and Human Services Department commissioned the report from the Institute, which advises the federal government and shut out pro-life groups in meetings leading up to the recommendations.

      While the rule the Obama administration will likely adopt does include a religious exemption, it is so narrow so as to not include Catholic colleges and universities as well as hospitals. Cain Leads Republican Presidential Race, Romney Second
      A new national poll released by Quinnipiac University finds pro-life Republican businessman Herman Cain leads the GOP presidential race and a new Rasmussen poll shows he leads in the early battleground state of South Carolina as well.

      Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain leads the Republican presidential primary field with the support of 30 percent of Republican voters, the Quinnipiac poll found.

      Cain is followed by a group of candidates also campaigning on the pro-life position. He is followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 23 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 10 percent and Texas Gov. Rick Perry with 8 percent. No other candidate receives more than 7 percent of the support of Republican voters.

October Baby: A Pro-Life Movie Showing the Pain of Abortion
      Would you like to know the wonder of Twitter? Well, here’s a great example…

      On Friday morning, I tweeted, “thinking of driving to Alabama to see @OctoberBabyFilm” Within a few minutes I was on the phone with Dan Atchison, the film’s producer, and he invited us to the premier that night in Birmingham with the cast and crew. We moved a few things around and we were on the road to Alabama.

      I didn’t know much about October Baby except that it was a movie about a girl who found out she was an abortion survivor. To my surprise, the film is much deeper than that.

      October Baby follows Hannah (played by Rachel Hendrix) as she goes on a journey to find her biological mom…AND find herself. The exchanges between Hannah, her adoptive parents and her best friend, Jason, all paint a sobering, truthful picture about wondering who you are and where you come from.

     Without even knowing that she was adopted or the survivor of an abortion, Hannah grew up feeling like something just didn’t fit. She felt like an outsider, and she built walls to protect herself. Clinic Advertises “Gentle Abortions. No Pain. No Memory.”
     In New York City 41% of pregnancies are reported to be terminated by abortion. I Googled that statistic to verify it and in the sidebar was a string of advertisements. One in particular caught my eye.

     Sure enough, that’s what they offer. General anesthesia – the mother is asleep – while the child is killed.

     What struck me as odd is that a provider that buys advertising usually promotes the services believed to be of most interest to the potential customer. But post-20 week abortions are reported to be a rare service, usually 1-3% of the total abortions reported in a given year. The fees begin around $360 and increase with the “size of the pregnancy” up to $1,700 typically.

 180 Movie Marks 1.3 Million Views, Heading to High Schools

     The acclaimed pro-life movie 180 has now had more than 1.3 million people view it online at YouTube and now the producers of the documentary are taking it to high school campuses across America.

     A free DVD of the award-winning viral movie “180? may be coming to a high school near you as the promoters of the film follow up on their successful distribution of 200,000 copies of the movie to college and university campuses.

     Ray Comfort, the creator of the documentary says it has been so popular “because it’s ‘shocking.’ It opens with 14 people (mainly college students) who have no idea of the identity of Adolf Hitler.”

     “One reviewer said, ‘So, what’s a pretty good documentary could have been even stronger without the fools early on,’” Comfort said. “Perhaps those who are quick to call these students fools lack perception themselves. These young people are rather ignorant as to perhaps the darkest period of human history, because the American education system has failed them.”

When Will Black America Wake Up on Abortion?
     It’s common for the black political establishment to claim white conservatives and their policies cause black America’s problems.   It’s a shame this accusation is never challenged because in many ways it is the black establishment that is enabling decline.

     There is, for example, a chasm of fatherlessness in black America that breeds malcontents.   A man-child mentality permeates communities in which morally malnourished minors learn life lessons from pornographic and misogynistic rap songs glorifying “thug life.”  Yet government programs make single-parent households and absent fathers advantageous.

     Is this more the fault of Lyndon Johnson and his Great Society welfare-state agenda or Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI)?

     Inner-cities resemble Misrata more than Mayberry. In New York City, a recent headline read “15-Yr-Old Fatally Shot At Brooklyn Playground, 13-Yr-Old Injured.”  In Chicago, the news is “Gang Violence Leaves Two Men Shot.”  And while blacks comprised only 32.4 percent of the Chicago population in 2009, police report that 71.6 percent of those arrested that year were black.

     The Heritage Foundation's Rory Cooper tweeted that Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan's official biography on www.whitehouse.gov, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan's tax reform advocacy with his "Buffett Rule" gimmick.  My first thought was, he must be joking.  But he wasn't - it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford).  Here are a few examples:

• On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people.  President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

• In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has "an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected."  He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948.  Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.

• President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed (sic) into law in 1965 - providing millions of elderly healthcare stability.  President Obama's historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the "donut hole."

• On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act.  Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.

• In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary.  Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.

     I imagine Bill Clinton will be especially receptive to Obama's habit of shoehorning himself into the limelight previously occupied by others.  As you can see, the bullet points make clear that while each president has done something historic or notable, Obama is carrying forward every one of those accomplishments since Coolidge.  No wonder he always seems so proud of himself.

To be forgotten? - Reflecting on the hysteria to obliterate America's history: After all is said & done, what are we but memories?  When we die, how long do you continue to exist?  I believe in an afterlife, hopefully in Heaven; however, earthly wise, when the last memory of you fades from those you left behind, what becomes of who you were?  We as Americans, we as country, are but a compendium, a cornucopia of all things gone before.  If we are to lose those shared memories, their ripples coursing across our society, ...we will have not only lost who we are but would have been.  We are, for now, all that we were, good & bad, which if forgotten leaves us nothing of value, with no steerage from the past.  We would be lost, adrift, alone, directionless ...a passing moment in time, forgotten whisps, without meaning to the future.  I, for one, want to be remembered, if not for myself but for the trail of heritage from which I was born and which I follow. -- rfh.

There are sometimes when no foolish or silly pop-culture joke seems enough, or even warranted, or wanted, or appropriate.

Fortunately, this is not one of those times!  Hey, as I always say - if you can't laugh .... you probably aren't very happy.

I am not very happy right now, but I feel laughter of the hysterical "This is a joke, righ?  Right?  Right? Please for the love of little green apples, tell me this is a joke!" school is called for.

Obama's website calls us "terrorists."   No seriously, I mean that. [He] It really does.

I was informed of this by a friend of mine whose name I shall not give out - because those of us in the terror business like to go by code names, you see.  So, in honor and homage to a recent blockbuster movie, I shall refer to her only as The Baroness.

Now, the website linked above (and now, linked here) has quotations and screen captures from Barack Obama's website.  When his website is visited, the content is not the same.  This could be down to the content having been changed from the rhetoric which called those opposed to Obamacare "the heirs of Bin Laden" and contained references to "superhero karate chops" (No, seriously, I am not making this stuff up.) or it could have been because Gateway Pundit doctored the screen grabs for sensationalism points.

In any case the actual, current content of the website is not much better. Unless Obama and his Obamaites have changed their website again, this webpage right here beyond the click refers to those opposed to Obamacare as "domestic terrorists" and likens supporting the healthcare plan to fighting back against the 9/11 attacks.

Alright, gloves off you little piece of slime. Gloves off.

We campaign to stop a healthcare plan which includes abortions, and you liken us to terrorists?  You mention that 3000 died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11, but neglect to mention more than that die every single day from abortion?  You call me a terrorist?

This is simply flatly insulting to those who have died in terrorist attacks.  I have buried more friends than I care to mention because of brutal, barbaric attacks from the IRA (I am from England, in case people were unaware of that.)  I know what terrorism is - you have no idea, you jumped-up, grinning snake-oil salesman.

As a matter of interest, it is interesting to note that Ted Kennedy of unhappy memory supported both abortion and the goals of the IRA.  So, that's several people I care about you supported the slaughter of, Senator.  As I said earlier, I really hope you begged for forgiveness from God before you died.

But this is what we face - we face an enemy who calls those making peaceful demonstrations "terrorists", who accuses those expressing their democratic rights of subverting democracy, and likens those who try to defend the lives of the unborn to those who slaughter thousands.

This is the enemy we face.  Never let any of their lies fool you - they are not for a woman's choice, or the rights of mothers, or "personally opposed" or any of that garbage.  They are straight up, flat-out, monsters.  I am incensed and have possibly lost my temper.

Obama calls me a terrorist?  No, Mister President - you don't need to be terrified of me.  You need to be terrified of God - because He will have something to say to you concerning your lies and support of genocide.

Expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of Agent Robert Rosas and standing in solidarity with the brave men and women of the United States Border Patrol as they remember the service and sacrifice of Agent Rosas and continue their mission to preserve and defend our borders.

 

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

 

Mr. HUNTER (for himself and [see ATTACHED LIST of cosponsors]) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on RESOLUTION

 

Expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of Agent Robert Rosas and standing in solidarity with the brave men and women of the United States Border Patrol as they remember the service and sacrifice of

 

Agent Rosas and continue their mission to preserve and defend our borders.

 

Whereas since 1919, 108 United States Border Patrol agents have died in the line of duty;

 

Whereas, on July 23, 2009, on the Shockey Truck Trail near Campo, California, agent Robert Rosas Junior, a member of the United States Border Patrol since May 22, 2006, was killed by gunfire while serving in the line of duty;

 

Whereas since 2008, more than 50 Border Patrol agents have been targeted by gunfire while hundreds of others have been subject to other forms of attack;

 

Whereas since 2006, over 10,000 individuals have been killed as a result of ongoing violence on the Southwest border;

 

Whereas, despite an increased security presence along the Southwest border in recent years, Border Patrol agents are under constant threat of violence and contact with drug, weapons, and human smugglers, drug cartels and other organized crime, and transnational criminals;

 

Whereas the killing of Agent Rosas represents the ever-present danger associated with the Southwest border, affecting law enforcement and communities in both the United States and Mexico;

 

Whereas agent Rosas' death serves as an important reminder that we are engaged in a serious effort to secure the Southwest border, led by the approximate 17,000 agents currently stationed along our Nation's 1,969-mile land boundary with Mexico;

 

Whereas the bravery and devotion to duty demonstrated by agent Rosas has forever earned him a place in the hearts and memory of his fellow Americans and the men and women of the United States Border Patrol who risk their lives daily to protect the safety and security of the United States people;

 

Whereas agent Rosas, after starting his law enforcement career in 2001 as a reserve officer in El Centro, California, aspired to be a member of the United States Border Patrol; July 27, 2009 (10:22 p.m.)

 

Whereas agent Rosas was beloved for his desire and dedication to serving others, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues, but most of all by his devotion to his wife, Rosalie, and their two children; and

 

Whereas in the face of this loss, the Department of Homeland Security and law enforcement immediately reaffirmed that acts of violence against Border Patrol agents will not stand: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives expresses its condolences to the family and loved ones of Agent Robert Rosas and stands in solidarity with the brave men and women of the United States Border Patrol as they remember the service and sacrifice of Agent Rosas and continue their mission to preserve and defend our borders.

After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get on-line. She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message: ByAngel213: Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought someone was following me home today. It was really weird! GoTo123: LOL You watch too much TV. Why would someone be following you? Don't you live in a safe neighborhood? ByAngel213: Of course I do. LOL I guess it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see anybody when I looked out. GoTo123: Unless you gave your name out on-line. You haven't done that have you? ByAngel213: Of course not. I'm not stupid you know. GoTo123: Did you have a softball game after school today? ByAngel213: Yes and we won!! GoTo123: That's great! Who did you play? ByAngel213: We played the Hornets. LOL.... Their uniforms are so gross! They look like bees. LOL GoTo123: What is your team called? ByAngel213: We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger paws on our uniforms. They are really cool. GoTo123: Did you pitch? ByAngel213: No I play second base. I got to go. My homework has to be done before my parents get home. I don't want them mad at me. Bye! GoTo123: Catch you later. Bye Meanwhile..........GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for her profile. When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far. Her name: Shannon Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985 Age: 13 State where she lived: North Carolina Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall. Besides this information, he knew she lived in Canton because she had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m. every afternoon until her parents came home from work. He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats. Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey. He knew she was in the eighth grade at the Canton Junior High School She had told him all this in the conversations they had on-line. He had enough information to find her now.. Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from the ballpark that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always overreacting and hers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents wouldn't be so overprotective. By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the footsteps following her. Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her. It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base position to see a man watching her closely. He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt. After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach. She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and she smiled back. He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found her. Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few blocks to Shannon's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly returned to the park to get his car. Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time came to go to Shannon's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and sat there until time to make his move. Shannon was in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the living room.. "Shannon, come here," her father called. He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa. "Sit down," her father began, "this man has just told us a most interesting story about you." Shannon sat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never seen him before today! "Do you know who I am, Shannon?" the man asked.. "No," Shannon answered. "I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123." Shannon was stunned. "That's impossible! GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan!" The man smiled. "I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You see, Shannon, there are people on-line who pretend to be kids; I was one of them. But while others do it to injure kids and hurt them, I belong to a group of parents who do it to protect kids from predators. I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for me to find you. You named the school you went to, the name of your ball team and the position you played. The number and name on your jersey just made finding you a breeze." Shannon was stunned. "You mean you don't live in Michigan?" He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh It made you feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?" She nodded. "I had a friend whose daughter was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky. The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. Kids are taught not to tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line. The wrong people trick you into giving out information a little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them enough for them to find you without even realizing you have done it. I hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. Tell others about this so they will be safe too?" "It's a promise!" That night Shannon and her Dad and Mom all knelt down together and thanked God for protecting Shannon from what could have been a tragic situation. NOW: FORWARD THIS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT KIDS SO THEY CAN SEND IT TO FRIENDS THAT DO HAVE CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN

     I don't generally forward anything the least bit political, but this has to reach as many people as possible. I am sure we all remember Jane Fonda's going to Viet Nam, but may not have heard the results of her visit.

  Personally, I had a friend, an American pilot, who was also at the Hanoi Hilton.  He still suffers from what happened to him then—as a young man just out of college with the world ahead of him.  Gary had a new wife and baby waiting for him at home as well as his parents and sister—one of my best friends.
  He tells the same story about the treatment after Jane's visit.  We must stop her being honored as a "Woman of the Century" and boycott the movie!  Please pass this on. The movie is "The Butler" What a disgrace to Mrs. Nancy Reagan! JANE FONDA as NANCY REAGAN!!!
  This cannot go around too much. 

  Those of us that were living in those years will never forget that she was a traitor and did a lot of damage to our boys.  She has now been chosen to play Nancy Reagan in her life story. I am sending this one out because so many do not know this truth...and also because she was on 3 times this week talking about her new book ...And how good she feels in her 70's ..she still does not know what she did wrong ..her book just may not make the best list if more people knew...

  IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!!!!!! A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED. KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA. This is for all the kids born in the 70's and after who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.
  Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the '100 Women of the Century.' BARBARA WALTERS WRITES: "Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known >>how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War."

  The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
  In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo  Prison the ' Hanoi Hilton.'   Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American 'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd received. He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk.
  In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double

vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.
  From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the 'Hanoi Hilton'...the first three of which his family only knew he was 'missing in action'. His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a 'peace delegation' visit.
  They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?' Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.
  She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper...Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.
  I was a civilian economic development adviser in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi.  My North Vietnamese captors  deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border.
  At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs. We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals....'

  When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received... and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as 'humane and lenient.' Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees,  with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

  These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of '100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget....' 100 Years of Great Women' should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.
  There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them.
 Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.
