by John Jessup, CBN News Washington Correspondent, Thursday, December 03, 2009 | WASHINGTON - The Republican Party has seen better days. In an effort to re-establish itself, some are pushing an effort to purge the party of "Rino's" or moderate "Republicans in Name Only." One Republican who doesn't have to worry about that is Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. Rep. Michele Bachmann appeared on Thursday's The 700 Club and addressed the health care bill that is currently in the U.S. Senate. Click play to watch the interview with Pat Robertson. |

United States House of Representatives and/or United States Senate
On any given day, the office staff of Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., takes in just as many complaints as it does calls of support - if not more.
But to Bachmann, it's a sign that she's doing a good job, sticking to her conservative principles.
Her journey through politics took many stops. She started out as a school bus driver, then was a federal tax attorney, and a small business owner.
Bachmann entered politics after she became fed up with the pro-tax, pro-choice stances of a local politician.
Now seen as a lightning rod within the GOP, her vocal opposition of government bailouts to the Democrat's health care overhaul plan has turned this two-term congresswoman into a national headliner, who with a few words during a live TV interview, inspired thousands to attend a massive gathering on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
"Let me ask you a question, is President Obama going to be your doctor?," Bachmann asked. "Can we fix stupid? No!"
Bachmann is fueled by her core belief that government needs real reform. However, this wife and mother of five, as well as numerous foster kids, draws her greatest strength from her faith and what she calls traditional American values.
