From: Rob Jesmer, NRSC Executive Director Sent: Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Last week, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) called out "you lie" during President Obama's speech on health care reform, and immediately apologized for his comments. In fact, he apologized several times, publicly and to the White House. In 2002, Senator Harry Reid called President Bush a liar, and has yet to issue a single apology. During a 2005 interview he became indignant about the incident, saying that he had apologized for also calling President Bush a "loser," and then adding "But never for the liar, have I?" What was the reaction from the left to Reid's accusation? Democrats cheered him on. Cheered him on, in fact, so loudly that he continues to say outrageous things like, "the war is lost," and "you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol." Now, despite Wilsons apology, the Democrat majority in the House of Representatives is trying to censure him. This resolution shows the hypocritical nature of the Democrat leadership in Washington - and it appears Americans are starting to take notice. In his home state of Nevada, Harry Reid's approval ratings are at a dismal 36%, with a majority of Nevada residents disapproving of his "leadership" in the Senate. The NRSC is working hard to defeat Senator Reid in 2010, but that won't be possible without your continued support. Please, make a secure contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 today. Together, we can send Harry Reid packing. Sincerely, Rob Jesmer, NRSC Executive Director P.S. Help us send Harry Reid packing. Contribute today.
